Replying To Blackjack:  "Lomans since 2013 have been a bit like Kerry where they either win a championship or come very close.

No knockout match in that time frame where Lomans have been comprehensively beaten.

Bookmakers suggest this year be different but I've seen nothing to suggest it will.

Lomans could be value team to back at this stage."
I feel Lomans are short this year, having watched them a few times, though I did not see that Tyrellspass game where they seemed to be back to their pomp. All teams have their era, and I feel they are nearing the end of theirs. SMC excepted, their main players are definitely not better than 3/4 years ago, and if anything are enduring a decline. If Kinnegad solves their goalkeeping issues and it's a big if,- (3 different keepers in the last three games)-I tip them to win. - But it will be close.
On a side note, I don't think anyone has really hyped up Caulry. There may be a few tongue-in-cheek comments on this forum, which seem a bit of craic, but they never looked like winning last Sunday, and most people would feel they are a long way from championship honours.
I think the top 4 teams are definitely the current semi-finalists, which validates the current system, as it has brought the best teams to the final stages. The last day of the group system provided many thrills and spills, so I would not change it. The system also allows a team to make the leap, consolidate and try to compete at the top table over 2/3 years which is a good process. I would not like the 4 groups of 3 option at all. There is some merit to equal groups of 6 and just let a new year be a new year, but overall I think the current system is hard to beat.

Lomans played 4 league matches. Got 3 points. Drew with Athlone beat Kinnegad. The one knockout championship match they had against Tyrrellspass they won convincingly.
Group matches are league matches in all but name as you won't be knocked out unless you lose 4 of them in a row..

At junior level Darragh Seery and Brandon Carey are fine players, the Monaghan brothers for Garrycastle, Ross Corroon for Shamrocks, Dillon Matthews, Ciaran Nolan, The Downs, the Kelleher brothers from Tubberclair
