I'd be surprised if dempsey plays at all considering the injury. He was heavily strapped up in warm up and pulled up on 1st sprint in warmup. I'd also wonder will foy get game time at all, considering his reaction to paddy dowdall when coming off. He had given away a number of balls at tgat point and got a yellow card in a very tight game. Lomans couldn't risk leaving him on pitch but his reaction wa poor shouting at the manager when he tried to shake his hand. The change in weather may favour the downs next week. Hopefully it's another cracker.

This is a tactical change for that very reason, these lads can impact from the bench. They're all top players who all played their part last Sunday. They are Lomans most powerful and impactful runners so not starting and bringing them in later is a recipe to run riot, of course it is. A fresh TJ Cox, Enda Gaffney, Peter Foy etc won't come on and make an impact? Wow. Ok.

I agree he needed to come off, he was unlucky to get a yellow card for that hit on Moran I will say but you can't risk a red in a game like that. I don't think his reaction to Dowdall will have any repercussions, emotions are high in a county final and you see it happen all the time. He's a Paul Galvin type character. They'll have patched that up I am sure. Dowdall will need Foy, if he turns it on he tends to get 2/3 scores from the bench. He'll feature. 100%.

`This Inter-provincial Cup won't look good on Dessie's CV the way it's going...

How do you know about all these tactical changes. Seems very far fetched. Looks like someone coming on here for some attention and to talk scutter for few views

Armagh's bench press was a major reason behind their All Ireland win and while much has been made of the impact Dublin get from their bench, they were outscored by the Galway subs in the semi final. This could be a significant factor in the last quarter tomorrow when the game opens up, fresh legs like Peter Foy and maybe Enda Gaffney getting on the ball and driving at The Downs defence. Nowadays, the players who finish the game are of equal importance to those who start it. It will be an interesting aspect, St Loman's have a serious advantage over The Downs in this area. Can they use it effectively, that's the question.

The video footage of the games today is poor..zooming in zooming out, missing parts of the game.
game is livening up in 2nd half

Another super match, two evenly matched sides, Not a nice way to decide it but it was difficult to see how they could be separated, Luke L deservedly Man of the Match, Jack Geoghegan a close contender, the Loman's penalties seemed perfectly placed, Keeper had no chance of saving, game similar to last weeks, Kelvin Reilly's points were crucial. Well done to both sides

Shocking. First game was worse with camera way behind play pointing the other end of the field. Sound quality atrocious too.

Great game two excellent finals. Penalties a horrible way to lose it but somebody has to lose. John Heslin, Kelvin Reilly and David Whelan all on 8 Senior medals. Is that equaling a record for one code in Westmeath? Think Dessie got 8

Replying To WmeathWarrior:  "Peter Foy is back on the bench but in my opinion he's done serious damage coming in from there and suits him better. Having words of the Dowdall the last day put a stop to any chances of him starting this time regardless. I've always maintained that he is a far better wing back and not a wing forward. Flanagan holds his place but both Regan and Gaffney have dropped to the bench which means that they now have a bench of TJ Cox, Peter Foy, Enda Gaffney, Kevin Regan and Nathan Lally. We can see what they are going for there. Those lads will all run riot coming fresh into the game."
Fair play to you for this information, spot on. Crazy reaction from other posters to this post… apparently it's 'a disgrace' to come onto the Westmeath Football Forum,,, to talk about Westmeath Football.

We may all give up on this thread if that's the reaction a lad gets for posting info on here.

Looking at the match programme, Athlone won 9 championships between 1947 - 1965, 8 between 1947 & 1960. Shamrocks won 8 between 1986 and 2000. Garrycastle won 8 between 2001 and 2019. Kilbeggan won 8 between 1919 and 1935. And the three St. Lomans lads today winning their 8th.
