I must have missed the announcement 6 months ago so.
If we had a decent county website we wouldn't have to be on here asking for details of fixtures, rules around placements etc. I imagine people in nursing homes would know more about the fleadh than anyone else!

Games were moved from mullingar to elsewhere in recent years when the fleadh was on, what's the problem with doing that?

Replying To Icehouse:  "Well Lester , I think that you haven't a clue about Westmeath and Caulry football . The carry on in last Saturday evening left every Caulry supporter fuming. Very disrespectful to Loman's and natural 's alike .
The reality is that if Shane Curran had the pick of all south Westmeath he still could not pick a team to beat the present day St. Loman's. I was talking to a former Caulry player. He told me about Larry Nugent going over Mickey Scanlon's head to catch a ball. That's the Caulry way.
Westmeath have a great Championship system in place the envey of most counties . We don't want ruined by the Cake or another Cake"
Its not like Shane Curran to make it all about Shane Curran LOL

Who have been the standout players in the championship this year?

I think the westmeath board should have a team and player of the championship each year also

Agree on the team / players of the championship awards, lots of counties do it and make it a presentation night.

As regards the best players so far, we can't judge anyone until it becomes knockout. That's when you'll see the players of the championship stand up. Time and time again with get a little carried away with group stage performers, who then can go missing in a semi final / final. We have another while to wait but I like your thinking on the accolades for those players that do eventually stand out.

The county website is top class re fixtures and results, both adult and underage. Results in immediately, fixtures on social media, with club secretaries, in local newspapers, some people love whinging.

It won't be announced until early next week I'd imagine.

Where is this in the rules?
The planning report issued to clubs at the start of the year points to article 6.21 which doesn't mention the games between the 3 teams. Article 6.21 alludes to the overall score difference

Looking at the intermediate championship section A last round fixtures. If Rosemount, Milltown and Ballymore all win their games it would leave the top five out of the six teams finishing level on 6 points. That would be some finish

Seen this come up on the Offaly Senior B championship last night, see tweet and link to Rule below. Part 5(c) the relevant section where it says scoring difference from the head to head games.

Article 6.21 was updated this year at congress. If two teams are level on points it goes on head to head. If three teams are level on points it goes on the results in the games only between those three teams first, then score difference only in the games between the three teams that are tied on points. Probably a fairer way to do it.

Yep a big difference to going with scoring difference first. In Group B it's a big plus for Athlone , and a big hit for Shamrocks. If it's those two plus Shandonagh on 6 points then it's Athlone who progress rather than Shamrocks (who would have done based on scoring difference). No change if it's Moate Athlone and Shandonagh on 6 , as it will still be Moate.
So basically Shamrocks are out if Athlone beat Garrycastle , which they surely will.

If it is Shamrocks, Athlone and Shandonagh will Shamrocks not go through? Bet Shandonagh by 9 and lost to Athlone by 2 leaving them on +7. Athlone bet them by 2 and Shandonagh by 1 leaving +3.
