Replying To Fionn:  "I think when you have seasoned lads still playing as well as younger lads, then it shows the talent pool is not that deep or that great at all. Add to this that Danny has a lot of miles on the clock and is not as influential as he was either.

I think Murphy will get a shot alright.

I thought Madden did an excellent job on JH by the way.

I like what Donoghue is doing - but just a pity we didnt get him when a lot of our top players were at their peak."
Madden was good. As you say, the talent pool is not deep. We've had decent enough minors and 21s over last few years, but I don't see too many of them having featured in championship? Perhaps I'm wrong.

A lot of it of course is coaching so if Donoghue can pick a good squad, he has the experience and back up to turn the sum of the parts into a cohesive unit, Was close to the line for the Wexford game last year and very impressed at how well organised they were on the line. Definitely out thought Wexford at crucial stages.

The Clare game was very disappointing but not much different to the sort of disappointments everyone outside of Limerick and Clare ended up with. Expectations have to be modest i suppose but a Leinster by 2025 is a viable target given where the other three contenders are at presently.

Excellent news that both Dessie and Mick are staying on next year.

Lots of continuity for both the Mens and Ladies teams.

Best of luck to our new CEO - JC is gonna be a hard act to follow.

Hopefully our new sponsors eclipse the AIG deal also.
Would love to see our COE taking off and a new Parnell Park.
Time will tell......
It is a joke where our teams are training tbh.

When we were at our peak we had Anto Daly. He was a great manager and was unlucky, twice, not to reach the AI Final.
Vinnies shot an incredible 21 wides in the semifinal against Boden. Crazy figure and the reason Hedgo didn't take the penalty was because he threw the ball to Thomas Connoly for TC to take it.

Dublin county board cancelled all matches in Parnell other than Senior final tomorrow, I suspect that might only be because it is scheduled for TG4 and keeping fingers crossed. Might be slim chance of going ahead if sun comes out and no more rain but be surprised if it does,

If match does go ahead, and looking more likely after a good drying day yesterday and sun promised, I better make a prediction,

Albeit they have not looked too impressive so far, and been just about doing enough and were even perhaps slightly fortunate last time, I am going to go for Crokes, Boden have been good and with Colm Basquel continuing his form with the county they will pose huge threat if getting a couple of goals, which they always look like doing.

Crokes 6/5. They weren't far off that at the start of knock out stages. Good price I reckon.

I really should start charging commission :-)

Seriously though, should have been over before half time. Boden had no answer at all. Great displays all around and Mannion and Walsh were outstanding. Be hard to see anyone stopping them retaining the title.

In fairness it was probably Boden's worst performance and Crokes best.

Really disappointed with Boden tbh - as you say, they had no answer.

Mannion is a class act - and Walsh just adds that extra bit of class to the team.

Crokes saved their best performance until the FInal.
It will make it all the harder for Raheny to take, knowing them had Crokes beaten but somewhere found a way to lose that game in the semi.

I think Crokes will kick on now also.

Congrats to them.

Looked okay in real time. No one was kicking up about it. Brilliantly taken goal and probably would have gotten another just before half time when he elected to lay the ball off rather than finish himself after a similar run.

Crokes now play the Carlow champions Éire Óg in quarters and winners of Rathnew/Blessington v Mary's in semi, Going by previous years, hard to see any of them beating Crokes. Naas probably favourites to come through other half so repeat final.. I'd still kind of fancy Daingean, despite weekend loss, to be team most likely to beat Crokes and that can't happen until the final..

Needs every step he can take to beat 16 men every evening in training!

I see what you did there!

And a ref who runs backwards so he doesn't spot any misdemeanours.

That was Walsh's best performance i've seen with Crokes. He was not 100% fit by the looks of him in earlier games and was still recovering from Paddy Small's "tackle" the last day. He is powerful player.

Nice word 'tackle' but no Small matter when it comes to John and Paddy! Hitting a fella when he's most vulnerable and can't protect himself used to be called something else in my time.

In fairness they take as much as they give, More maybe, in that they have gotten a 2name2 so it can be open season on them club and county. The one on Walsh was at time when game was lost so apart from anything else, it was poor form.

The hit on Eoghan McLoughlin, Dublin v Mayo 2021, is one of the worst I have seen in Croke Park.

I don't recall any of my county men sending an opponent to hospital, maybe you can enlighten me.
