Replying To galwayford:  "Great to see some new teams in the Leinster final. Well done Louth and Meath. Also remember years 2010 to 2021 were a golden age for the GAA. Packed stadiums, great games. Dublin football were at the heart of it too."
Golden? It nearly ruined football. No competition at all to their dominance. Mayo filling the togs consistently i. It was brutal. More competitive now and the rules apart from a couple of stupid ones seems to have improved things

Replying To oneoff:  "Is statistics don't lie how many "away" games have Dublin played in that time?

It's also funny how Dubs always trow out the line about being "forced" into playing in Croke Park. If it's such an issue why not refuse to play there?"
Since 1972? 40 - 50. Lost one. Navan 1973. To Louth as it happens.

Leinster Council sets the venues. There were lads voting to put us in CP then pretending they opposed it at their own county board!

Fíricí eile. Caithfidh mé cíos a fháil:-)

agree with this statement. Plus Dublin were also adept at employing the tactics as they saw fit too even though the pr would suggest they were this swashbuckling team- they were very good at getting men back behind the ball too and keeping ball, slowing the game down etc etc.

This was often overlooked by mainstream media but it happened regularly. But good luck to them- they played the rules as it suited them and were entitled to do so but spare us this nonsense that they were all out attacking and were angelic on the field- they weren't and that is why they were so successful.

Replying To TheUsername:  "Dont think so Mick, I'm actually surprised, most of the country are surprised we were beaten yesterday.

Anyone with any interest in the Dubs would know that after last year we are year 1 of a development cycle, i dont think yesterday was a very big surprise to any match going Dub. Taking nothing away from Meath.

We take the positives yesterday it was great experience for many of the young lads - some failed yesterday - but it will be the making of them, I've no doubt.

This year was/is going to be about getting miles on the lcock - sure we've 5 or 6 to come back and the extra games in the group will see us more competitive be wont be challenging this year for the big one as we are at the start of a cycle.

Taking absolutely nothing away from Meath - but a Leinster means little to us, the loss may be the most valuable thing of all - if you catch my drift. Its great for the game in Meath and all around Leinster."
Agree 100% on your sentiment User and yes a Leinster no big deal to Dubs anymore.Like ourselves I wpuld prefer a league medal tp a Munster championship medal at mo .
I genuinely think Dublin still in race for Sam though and if they can get Murchan and Bugler back then its game on.You re right though in that yesterday was good for the game overall.

Your off your rocker.
So its Mayos fault that Dublin won the 6 in a row. What were the other 30 counties up to? Apart from getting out of Dublins way.

With the new rules, no team will win Sam or even be top contenders, without a very good strong midfield.

We dont have that anymore.

Persisting with a player who has never shot the lights out playing for the Dubs, shows the lack of quality we have in that position.

Perhaps Madden can fill that role eventually but certainly not this year.

I dont rate either of our current midfielders tbh.

And that is the bottom line on where this team is now at.

We will be lucky to make the 1/4 finals at best this season.

I thought that before yesterday, and even more so now.

Not their fault at all, they were the only team capable of coming close at that stage.
