Replying To Ulsterman:  "Antrim hurling teams are mentally brittle. Dunloy bottled it AGAIN. No big surprise, Antrim teams can't hack it on the big stage."
Not much between the top Down and Antrim teams. Antrim would have more top teams is all.

What do you think of the odds for this weekend? I probably won't back CB this weekend but I'm surprised they are such massive odds, They have a team full of past/present intercounty hurlers.
Likewise after last weekend I'm surprised Ballygunner are warm enough favourites in that one. Hoping for two close games and bookies could well be wrong again this weekend.

Good question.

As far as I'm aware there are just two dual players.

The Ballygunner v Kilmallock is not being played until 9th Jan 2022, any idea why this is?
Both Leinster and Ulster had hurling semi-finals last weekend and are playing their finals this weekend.

Betting wise, for me the only game of interest is C/B v Ballyhale. But I have to be careful and try to be objective and not let my personal loyalties cloud my judgement - don't let the heart rule the head.

That said and weighing every thing up, I fancy Ballyhale to win. But 1/5 odds (Paddy Power) is no value to me.

So, I look at the handicap betting. Ballyhale are evens with -6 points.

This week's bet is £10 at evens - Ballyhale to win by at least 7 points.

By the way, you can get 6/5 on C/B with +5 points.

Apparently its a TV thing and they want all provincial finals to have their own day - or something along those lines. Its ridiculous that they are played so far apart.
I'm getting it hard to call the Ballyhale CB match even in terms of the handicap. The +5 seems appealling but I might stay on the fence on this one! I defintiely wouldnt touch 1/5 particularly after being stung in my accumulator at 1/8 last week.
I won't put my money where my mouth is but I'm going to stick with what I said a few weeks ago and predict Ballyhale will be beaten in Leinster this year. CB to win by a point!

I forgot to mention this game. I have little knowledge of Ulster club hurling. Plus there is hardly any recent form to go on, apart from the one semi-final. Also, Slaughtneil are 1/8 to win the final. So from a betting point of view, I'm giving this game a miss.

I'm backing ballycran, my club and I know the lads personally. Big outsiders and have been from the start. Dunloy where the favourites and look what happened them, at the end of the day it's 15 men against 15 and on our day we can do it. (Ballycran the only team to beat slaughtneil in ulster in 5/6 years I think)

Ballycolla had a great win last weekend but did everything go right on the night for them. Kilmacud too wouldn't be as streetwise and battle-hardened as Ballyhale. Thought some of the Ballycolla players put in an incredible shift on the heavy portlaoise pitch and will do well to recover in time to be flying round a big croke park this sunday.
Ballyhale obviously have come pack to the pack as they drew with St Ryanaghs( who are clearly improving ) but i cant get my head to see Ballyhale ultimately not lifting the cup but 1/5 is very short.id prefer to take the 1/6 outright if i had to. Thought it might have been more 2/5 Ballyhale which i would have gone with.

I can't see Ballyhale getting beat by anyone especially after their close call with St Rynaghs. I hope you're right but I just can't see it unless there's a ton of lads not playing or whatever.

Ballycran very poor missed to many chances in first 10-15 minutes but slaughtneil just to good. What does everyone think would Portaferry put up a better performance against slaughtneil if they got through to final ? Just for bit off fun

Correction!

RTE says: They will play the Munster champions - either Ballygunner or Kilmallock - in the All-Ireland semi-finals on the weekend of 22/23 January.
