Indeed we do not. which again is why your really ought to book a weekend in St. Denis or one of those Yorkshire cities where you can experience the melting pot in all its glory. They hate one another, never mid the indigenous peoples! BarneyGrant (Dublin) - Posts: 3253 - 06/12/2021 11:41:36 2391827 Link 2 |

Why bring it up so Barney? As I've said we don't need the xenophobia round here.... nor do we need 'Dog whistling' either for that matter.

Its main focus is on the matches but theres is a very substantial meetings, conferences/events as well as tours business and theyre used every day/week. Saying Croke Park is empty is simply false. Croke Park is a multi use events venue used extensively year round meetings, conferences make money year round be it the corporate boxes etc or premium rooms as theyre used on non match days the assets of stands and terracing dont make any money when no crowds to full them KillingFields (Limerick) - Posts: 3694 - 07/12/2021 09:54:44 2391940 Link 0 |

you keep saying the seats are empty for large parts of year as if its an issue. it isnt as financially croke park will make more than enough with its meeting rooms, spaces, conference rooms etc

Well, you're partly correct, in that I've had to point out more than once (and explain in greater detail than I would have thought necessary) that the stands and terracing are empty for large parts of the year. However, I never claimed that's an issue. My original point was simply to say that as the condensed inter-county calendar means that the stands & terracing will no longer be used to host large match crowds during August and September, there will be more opportunities to host concerts there instead, as an additional income stream. I never suggested that Croke Park will have to hold concerts in order to make up a financial shortfall, and nor did I ever suggest that there are no other income streams there. Hopefully THIS time we can move on. :) Pikeman96 (Wexford) - Posts: 2648 - 07/12/2021 15:42:42 2392003 Link 2 |

Ah look, boss. You can argue that black is white if you want to. Fact of the matter is that both senior All-Ireland finals are to be played in July next year. Only way there'll be a men's match in Croke Park in August is if the football final goes to a replay. Pikeman96 (Wexford) - Posts: 2648 - 07/12/2021 16:46:17 2392016 Link 2 |

Holding 5 concerts in a row can hardly be good for the pitch regardless of the covers over it or not. Bon (Kildare) - Posts: 2099 - 07/12/2021 19:03:29 2392031 Link 1 |

Deflection is all you know about isn't Barney? We definatly know what you are anyhow... you should be ashamed of yourself. Thank God relics like yourself are a dying breed. Now... don't bother me again with your xenophobic nonsense.

Methinks you protest too much. A bit like the Victorian missionaries who thought that other races are all innocent children to be patronised and looked after. They are laughing all the way to the bank at the likes of yourself.

The Munster semifinal between Cork and Kerry was supposed to be played in PUC in May but itll have to be moved to another venue now because Ed sherran is playing there and they have to dig up the pitch.

You can deflect all you like but we all know what you are. Shame on you. I hope you're not a member of any GAA club or involved with any juvenile teams for that matter. We don't need gombeens like you at any level in the GAA.

That says it all. Generations did not voluntarily build up our association for this sort of nonsense. Let's hope final doesn't clash with some "cultural" event :-) BarneyGrant (Dublin) - Posts: 3253 - 10/12/2021 08:40:07 2392257 Link 1 |
Peter Aiken and Croke Park are the money grabbers not Garth Brooks, that said the objections are mounting up to Brook's and Sheerings gig's, it's being put out there now that there are a couple more in the pipe line, it's said Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band are being lined up for a Croke Park date next summer.. supersub15 (Carlow) - Posts: 3084 - 16/12/2021 10:08:18 2392986 Link 4 |
