Replying To Hurlingmad12:  "Just reading report in the examiner of the intermediate final and it says that whoever won wouldnt be able to be promoted to senior B because they are second string teams, is this right or wrong? I'm nearly sure that clonkil and raharney played Senior B in recent years after winning the intermediate"
They can move to senior B but can't represent Westmeath in Leinster club championship at Junior level. St.Brigid's will be taking the Leinster spot.

I see there is junior club hurling round 5 fixtures this weekend, surely these could have been ran off midweek in between senior or intermediate club championship, there surely isn't that much crossover between panels

Any word on the county senior panel? Has Fortune added anyone new to his backroom team? Haven't heard anything about new additions to the panel although someone on here may have.
Kevin O'Brien leading the u20s with John Shaw and Brendan Murtagh as his selectors is a good appointment by the county board. Ian Corrigan, Barry Kennedy with the minors.

Hearing a few notable withdrawals from panel. OBrien and Aonghus from ctg being the two that have withdrawn...

I'd be surprised if that was true. Aonghus missed last year I doubt he would want to this year. OBrien only missed county when in Dubai. We will see though!

Wouldn't be going to football, if they were taking a year out it would be for personal reasons I'd imagine.

Only county hurler good enough to play for the footballers too is Niall Mitchell so ya can bet for a fact ya won't see either of them in with footballers .
Wouldn't be surprised if aonghus never went back after what fortune done to him after he told him he won't be playing last year.

Super win in the u13 division 1 final for Clann Na Gael beating Clonkill. Great for Pollard and Brownstown.
Castletown convincing winners over Clonkill in u19 division 1 semi final despite being nowhere near their best.

high quality game.Clonkill a very nice team but Clann Na Gael have some very talented young hurlers. Its been a long time since Brownstown and Castlepollard had underage success but like Na Piarsaigh they are making underage hurling in the county very competitive

Only 3 points in under 19 semi according to reports? Hardly a convincing win. Great win for Clann na Gael, must be 30 years since Brownstown and possibly 20 since Pollard won a division 1 hurling title at underage?

I would say Brownstown in the 1980's and Castlepollard in the 1990's.We are a small county so I think todays result is of big significance to WH hurling.

There was 4 points in it at the end but Castletown were probably 9/10 pts better hurling wise despite not being playing to their best level at all.

Any idea of how many players Brownstown and Pollard have on that team? What's the split

It's brilliant to see. Underage is so important. Just think if we hadn't these amalgamations both Pollard and Brownstown would have probably been in Div 2. Can only bode well for the future of hurling in the county.
