Different rules for different competitions? Doubtful I'd say. Claretandblue (Westmeath) - Posts: 1967 - 06/09/2023 14:47:47 2503314 Link 0 |
Head to head where 2 teams are tied on points, ask your club secretary. And besides you reckon that Plunketts will beat Brownstown (who will then finish on 2 points) and you reckon Delvin will be relegated, they'll also be on 2 points, Delvin will have a better score difference than Brownstown, so why do Delvin get relegated? Anyways if Delvin & Brownstown both finish on 2 points there will be a relegation playoff (Plunketts beat Brigids on penalties last year in a playoff).

Yes head to head rules 6.21 only apply to keeping teams in the championship I.e who qualifies for knockouts Teams can't be relegated on head to head, a playoff must apply westmeathgaa11 (Westmeath) - Posts: 299 - 06/09/2023 16:07:40 2503342 Link 0 |
If Raharney lose to Clonkill and Castletown and LLG draw, then Raharney are out of the championship. Westmeathgael98 (Westmeath) - Posts: 50 - 06/09/2023 18:46:49 2503362 Link 0 |
If Clonkill beat Raharney and Castletown and the Gaels draw Raharney are out so they have plenty to play for.Raharney,Castletown and Pollard to win, in the B Plunketts,The Wood and Delvin while in intermediate Turin,Southern Gaels and Castletown to win.

If the Gaels get any sort of result against Castletown Raharney can be eliminated. Will be eliminated actually if they don't win

That's my point.

Yea, so Cullion can't qualify for semi-final no matter what happens!

How was it your point? You claimed Cullion could qualify with a big win. They're out if they win by 100 points Claretandblue (Westmeath) - Posts: 1967 - 07/09/2023 13:54:30 2503427 Link 0 |
Plunketts have a very good team - be interesting to see how they do on Sunday. Brownstown have been a bogey team for Plunketts in recent years, beating them in 2018 and last year. Westmeathgael98 (Westmeath) - Posts: 50 - 07/09/2023 14:12:38 2503436 Link 0 |
If Raharney beat Clonkill..the Castletown vs LLG game is dead rubber. They won't know that at the time though. Westmeathgael98 (Westmeath) - Posts: 50 - 08/09/2023 09:34:21 2503485 Link 0 |
So therefore it's not a dead rubber Claretandblue (Westmeath) - Posts: 1967 - 08/09/2023 11:12:15 2503501 Link 0 |
Sorry I misread the rule. Regardless Cullion have turned their season around a win v the wood and it would be impressive considering where they were. Greenandgoldie (Westmeath) - Posts: 154 - 09/09/2023 18:20:23 2503606 Link 0 |
Raharney very strong display today. They join Castletown and Lough Lene Gaels in knockout. Greenandgoldie (Westmeath) - Posts: 154 - 10/09/2023 17:36:09 2503663 Link 0 |
Raharney in final. Westmeathgael98 (Westmeath) - Posts: 50 - 10/09/2023 17:59:35 2503665 Link 0 |
Clonkill out, raharney into final. Ctg vs gaels in semi finals after ctg bet gaels in last group game. Premier12345 (Tipperary) - Posts: 48 - 10/09/2023 18:10:13 2503666 Link 0 |
Good win for CTG over the Gaels. Should have won by more than 2 points but they'll take it considering they were without Ciaran Glennon in goals and Aonghus Clarke. Both should be available for the semi final. I reckon Castletown will introduce Peter Murphy to Senior hurling in that game too. Their forwards were dangerous. Raharneys championship to lose, convincing winners again, when was the last time clonkill didn't make the knockout stages? westmeathgaa11 (Westmeath) - Posts: 299 - 10/09/2023 20:50:47 2503677 Link 0 |
Good win for Raharney, Clonkill seemed to miss Niall Mitchell all year, impressive display by the Gaels vs Castletown, their semi final might be a close game. Delvin vs Brownstown in senior b relegation a tasty looking game. Claretandblue (Westmeath) - Posts: 1967 - 10/09/2023 21:19:31 2503684 Link 0 |
Don't care what anyone says... It should be four teams in the semis, having one semi is ridiculous, I know only 6 teams in championship but seriously how is one extra game going to do any harm also it would have been a double header. It would have left pollard something to play for tomorrow also if 4 teams were going through preddan (Kildare) - Posts: 763 - 10/09/2023 23:50:20 2503694 Link 1 |
