This is going to be some massive game with Offaly now. Will be massive pressure on both sides.westmeath should not be in this position, Kerry were a team that seemed to be going backwards from what they were at their peak 3 or 4 years ago, best known player missing for Joe McDonagh too.
I still think the team can deliver but on yesterday's showing i would be worried. It's strange that the two teams with division one experience were beaten yesterday also.

When we won the McDonagh in 2021 the manager at the time (was it Shane O'Brien?) didn't let the u-20s play against Offaly and was widely criticised in the county as we had a good u-20 team that year too, but we went on to win the McDonagh. I'd say there will be serious discussion this week between the 2 managers and the county board. There's something wrong when the motm in the co final (Eoin Daly) can't make the 26, or did he leave the panel? Daly & Jogger terrorised the Raharney half backline, I think WH could've looked at something similar this year, big men are needed these days, Jogger scored 1-1 yesterday, Eoin Daly could've been turned into a regular senior county hurler. Killian was the only forward to score from play yesterday, Was Jogger needed in the backs when Kerry were playing with 4 forwards and 10 running from deep? Davy Glennon is a big loss, will he be available for Saturday?

Any harm trying Jogger out in the forwards? That was some goal he scored yesterday. Eoin Daly shouldn't be left out of the 26 when you see some of the forwards who started the game yesterday.

Apparently minor management are trying to get Aaron Flanagan's red card rescinded and to have him available for the Offaly game at the weekend. We are already through to the knockout stages but clearly the management are aiming to win the group. I thought his red card was very harsh anyway, it was handbags stuff.

According to Leinster council website senior match is in O' Connor Park at 3.00 and minor match is in Faithful Fields at 5.00, very tight timing as senior game won't be over until at least 4.30 and Faithful Fields is surely 30 mins from Tullamore

Apologies, minor game is at 5.30 which makes more sense.

County u14s beat Offaly at the weekend in Clonkill and the u15s lost by 5/6 to Dublin missing a few key players. They are playing Tipperary at the weekend.
Good to see the work going on and to see we are competitive at this level. Hopefully the minors and u20s can continue their good form also.
Some of the seniors need to look at what's coming behind them and put the shoulder to the wheel this weekend.
It is mad that the games on Saturday aren't a double header in O'Connor park.

Senior team named for tomorrow, David O'Reilly starts at wing forward. I was hoping none of the u20s would be used. Hopefully they don't need the others.

Wishful thinking unfortunately, I can see Williams and Clarke on the field at some stage, and maybe Gaffney to mark Screeney. Four lads dropped from the Kerry game is a bit drastic, as bad as we were.

Yeah unfortunately I think we'll need Gaffney on to mark Screeney as I don't think Regan and Bermingham will be able to get tight enough on him, unless they drop Egerton back into the full back line.
David O'Reilly can be a real handful if we get the right type of ball into him, probably our most accurate point scorer from open play alongside Killian.

Have it on accounts that Eoin Daly left the panel, I'm more surprised at his brother Michael not being in the 26, was arguably the best player in the club championship

How is it drastic? Cork dropped six lads after losing narrowly away to Waterford, we were beaten at home by six, deservedly, by a team missing 8-9 regulars from last year including Shane Conway who is probably the best player in the competition. The management had no choice, we had ten forwards playing at least 30 minutes last Sunday and one scored. I'm surprised Williams is not starting too, it's unfortunate that both teams are facing effectively knock out games but we're in that position due to last Sunday.

Its a fact that some players brilliant in the club scene dont bring that form to inter county usually because the pace is much quicker.

3 main players missing for the minors tomorrow, captain Darragh Kenny, Centre forward Padraig Casey and corner back Aaron Flanagan who is suspended. We are through to the knockout stages already fortunately but these players are a big loss.

Very disappointing once again, and disappointing from Fortune to use the u20s in what ended up being for nothing!
