Great to see John Daly back. Galway need him. Presume he is available to selection and his absence was all injury related? I didn't see any Moycullen matches this year but listened to a few. Wondering how James McLoughlin is developing? I had very high hopes for him becoming a colossus for Galway in the middle (no pressure)! Is he likely to get game time in D2 this year or is he a bit off yet. I realise he is very young still. I also find it amazing Tony Gill is not a regular on the Corofin team. Another man I have high hope for regarding county. But he needs to cement the club place first! Any other stand outs that haven't been playing county that need to be brought in. Our county team has been a let down since Covid came along. Decisions for next year have now been made so gonna get behind them and see where this brings us. I have reservations but I also have to believe that O'Neills input will be crucial. Time will tell. Gaillimh abú PS Lots of childish comments on this thread that don't deserve any oxygen. Beclare... we are all shocked to see you jump to the defence of Corofin. In an era where nobody cares about All stars, fair play to IB for winning (don't ask me how) in 2018. Really impressed with how he kicked on playing for Galway after that. Thought he was outstanding against Roscommon in the Connacht Final in 2019. LOL. He has been awful. And Liam Silke... Really ? You're really using him to try make your argument ? Your original point was that they aren't at intercounty standard. Ian Burke and Liam Silke are definitely at intercounty standard. I think Steede has also performed well at intercounty level too, but the jury's still out. Power is also at intercounty level. He's not a top class goalkeeper compared to the very best, but I wouldn't rate him much lower than a lot of other intercounty goalkeepers, like Hennelly. I think Leonard and Martin Farragher are a step off the level needed, from a consistency point of view. Dylan McHugh is another who has shown some promise, but has yet to prove himself at that level. Kieran Molloy has also had an impact. He offers a lot with his energy. That's still plenty players that Corofin have provided over the past decade. To say they haven't given us intercounty players is a a badly thought out argument from you and appears to be based on your own biases. With regard to Corofin, they have been a beast of a club in terms of Galway club football - no doubt but Belclare just can not handle if anybody points to their deficiency at inter county level. County Final I have been thinking about how this will unfold on Sunday and I really looking forward to it.On paper it would be easy to say that Corofin should win easy. They basically moved through the group stages with ease and again strolled through the 1/4 and semi final. Martin Farragher No. 8 in the top scorers in Galway. They have experience in abundance and a serious bench. Moutbellew - League winners, stuttered a little in the group v Milltown. Had to go to extra time v Annaghdown but won easily in the end. Had a tough game v Moycullen. They have size, talent and fitness and have to have an awful hunger to win. It's a match I'm really looking forward to and I hope we get a competitive final. MM have definitely had the harder draw so far, but we have a fair idea of the quality of both teams at this stage regardless. MM's win over Corofin in last year's semi final was big, but doing it in a county final is another step. I don't have a horse in the race, but I would like to see MM win a county title with this group. They've been very close a few times. Corofin will definitely be hungry after losing their crown last year. What's left to be said about them. They're a remarkable club with serious strength in depth this year. MM have the tools to trouble them. They've been scoring goals and I feel they might need a few if they're to get the job done next Sunday. Heart says MM . There's a lot less pressure on Corofin and while I couldn't see them having the hunger MM have they didn't win last year and they are playing the team that stopped them. This won't be a team going through the motions. MM need goals. I think a lot of people associate Mountbellew's win over Corofin last year as being a fluke but there was 7 points in it in the end. It wasn't a 1 point game that they nicked at the end. Mountbellew will back themselves big time to get the job done on Sunday and with good reason you'd have to say, Corofin haven't had to play any top 5/6 team in this year's championship. All the other contenders were the far side of the draw (Mountbellew, Moycullen, Tuam, Annagdown).
