Great to see John Daly back. Galway need him. Presume he is available to selection and his absence was all injury related? Mayonman (Galway) - Posts: 1918 - 02/11/2021 13:06:06 2388152 Link 2 |
You are gas altogether Stop watching club football you really don't seem to enjoy it at all. The day you have anything positive to say is when pigs fly I'd suggest everyone just stops responding to you and giving you the attention you crave Goodbye Peggy galwayfball (Galway) - Posts: 1704 - 02/11/2021 13:14:35 2388154 Link 4 |
Do you disagree ? So jason Leonard, Liam Silke, Ian Burke, Ronan Steede, Bernie Power are all top class county footballers ?

Beclare... we are all shocked to see you jump to the defence of Corofin. Peggy11 (Galway) - Posts: 84 - 04/11/2021 11:47:36 2388375 Link 1 |
Your original point was that they aren't at intercounty standard. Ian Burke and Liam Silke are definitely at intercounty standard. I think Steede has also performed well at intercounty level too, but the jury's still out. Power is also at intercounty level. He's not a top class goalkeeper compared to the very best, but I wouldn't rate him much lower than a lot of other intercounty goalkeepers, like Hennelly. I think Leonard and Martin Farragher are a step off the level needed, from a consistency point of view. Dylan McHugh is another who has shown some promise, but has yet to prove himself at that level. Kieran Molloy has also had an impact. He offers a lot with his energy. That's still plenty players that Corofin have provided over the past decade. WanPintWin I respect your opinion. You leave the emotion outside when entering these debates which i admire.. unlike Belclare who just seems to think all Corofin players should play for Galway. I can't say i necessarily agree with your statement however we will not fall out over this. Peggy11 (Galway) - Posts: 84 - 04/11/2021 15:58:30 2388405 Link 0 |
In fairness to Belclare he is very passionate about his club and many of us are envious of his clubs achievements. To say they haven't given us intercounty players is a a badly thought out argument from you and appears to be based on your own biases. In the last week alone you've complained about Moycullen and Corofin, two clubs who play outstanding brands of attacking football and who have some very talented players, Cooke, Conneelly, Bradshaw, Kellys, Silkes, Steede, Power, Wall, Molloy, Burkes, McHugh etc. You might reflect before posting as it comes across as sour grapes at this stage.

You have taken this up wrong. I never gave out about a Moycullen player. EVER. I merely referenced their transfer market activity. With regard to Corofin, they have been a beast of a club in terms of Galway club football - no doubt but Belclare just can not handle if anybody points to their deficiency at inter county level. County Final galwaygoal (Galway) - Posts: 171 - 08/11/2021 14:22:44 2388775 Link 0 |
It's a match I'm really looking forward to and I hope we get a competitive final. MM have definitely had the harder draw so far, but we have a fair idea of the quality of both teams at this stage regardless. MM's win over Corofin in last year's semi final was big, but doing it in a county final is another step. I don't have a horse in the race, but I would like to see MM win a county title with this group. They've been very close a few times. Corofin will definitely be hungry after losing their crown last year. What's left to be said about them. They're a remarkable club with serious strength in depth this year. MM have the tools to trouble them. They've been scoring goals and I feel they might need a few if they're to get the job done next Sunday. Head says Corofin. Heart says MM . There's a lot less pressure on Corofin and while I couldn't see them having the hunger MM have they didn't win last year and they are playing the team that stopped them. This won't be a team going through the motions. MM need goals. They need every single man on that team playing their best for 60 plus mins and they have a chance if not I think they'll get well bet I really hope they do it after suffering so much heartbreak galwayfball (Galway) - Posts: 1704 - 08/11/2021 17:05:04 2388800 Link 1 |
I think a lot of people associate Mountbellew's win over Corofin last year as being a fluke but there was 7 points in it in the end. It wasn't a 1 point game that they nicked at the end. I'd marginally favour M/M in the final because I'm still not convinced by the Corofin full back line and I don't see what defender they have for Patrick Kelly. galway19 (Galway) - Posts: 870 - 10/11/2021 21:29:46 2389074 Link 0 |
Hope M-M can do the job, they'll need to all show up against Corofin. Fair play to Corofin, the absolute standard bearers for so long and did Galway and Connacht club football proud, it'd be nice to see M-M do it though. togoutlads (Galway) - Posts: 1042 - 11/11/2021 12:12:58 2389107 Link 0 |
Mountbellew will back themselves big time to get the job done on Sunday and with good reason you'd have to say, Corofin haven't had to play any top 5/6 team in this year's championship. All the other contenders were the far side of the draw (Mountbellew, Moycullen, Tuam, Annagdown). Corofin have yet to be tested this year and I think Mountbellew are going to be well set to get the win Sunday. Donaldtrump (Galway) - Posts: 252 - 12/11/2021 10:16:45 2389174 Link 0 |

Congrats to Leitir Mor. Bad defeat for Dunmore. 5 points up at HT. 3 points up with 5 minutes to play. That said they only scored 1 point in the 2nd half after a dominant 1st half display. That won't win many county finals. Marooned (Galway) - Posts: 2377 - 13/11/2021 18:17:18 2389307 Link 0 |
