I'd imagine that the next weekend designated for hurling will be used to play Wicklow vs Wexford. Our postponed game against Waterford earlier this year was played on a weekend designated for hurling. The only reason I could envisage this re fixture not happening on a hurling weekend is if Wexford have any dual players but dual players are as rare as UFOs these days so I can't imagine that will be a problem. I think the weekend of 9th March is a hurling weekend so I envisage the game will be refixed for that weekend.

Cian Deering starting. A fine young up and coming footballer

A good hard fought win today in Aughrim. The Wexford game will be massive. A slight worry I have is what team will line out ? . Possibly Oisin has his best time in his head, but whatever his best is, he may produce it next week. Question - has the same team ever lined out consecutively ??

I couldn't make the game today. These games are must wins for Wicklow. There is very little room for slip ups due to losing to london. That result might cost us promotion. Reading an account of today's game, it was in some ways, the opposite of previous games, as the team fell 5 points behind. We seem to be unable to play consistently to a certain level for prolonged periods. In terms of promotion, we have three games left to play: two away against wexford and tipperary. Sandwiched between these two games is a home game against limerick. If we lose to Wexford next weekend then we must beat limerick and tipperary. Basically we have to win two of our remaining three games to finish in the top two. I'm unsure if the manager knows his best fifteen. Maybe he thinks he needs twenty interchangable players to get over the line. Chopping and changing players may be counter initutive and why the team is struggling to perform consistently.

Seems to me as if we don't have many standout players except Dean and probably young Quinn. Other than that we could have 20 plus players or so of a similar ability - albeit a pretty decent ability, which bodes good from a strength in depth perspective. Next week is the big one as they are probably our stiffest test yet. Wexford are really motoring and we will know where we are after that. Even if we lost, I think we could still go up but to do that we would need to beat both Limerick and Tipp and that would be a tough enough ask.

It seems that the introduction of the new rules at club level is endanger. There's a lot of criticism about the rule changes introduced at intercounty level at the start of this year's league. There is no hooter being used in Division 3 and 4. If the GAA can't get the rules to work consistently at intercounty level, how do they expect the rules to be used in a Junior B club game. It will be interesting to see what the GAA do with the rules when the first part of the GAA season is over and it is onto the club championships. It is one thing implementing complex rule changes at intercounty level which is semi-professional, it is a complete different thing trying to get the same outcome at club level with its multiple levels.

Important game away against Wexford at 6pm this evening. Three games to go, we are third. We have to play three of the top four teams and based upon my calculations, we have to win 2 out of 3. One game against Limerick is at home and two games are away, this evening against Wexford and in the last round against Tipperary. Obviously if we win all three, we'll be promoted. On paper, the hardest of the three games is this evening's game away to Wexford who are unbeaten. Hypothetical, if we lost against Wexford we could be still promoted in second place in the division but only if we beat both Limerick and Tipperary. Performances have been patchy so far in the campaign. On the plus side, the team has dug out some results without playing well which is why we are still in with a shout. I'd imagine the bookies will have Wexford and Limerick favourites for promotion but I hope we can gate crash their party beginning with this evening's game. Best of luck to the team and management, I'll be hoping that we can get a result, I'd take a draw.

I hope you are right. One thing we will know after tonight's game will be where we are at as regards development. We have a young team who are still finding their way with probably only Dean as a seasoned performer. Wexford are probably a year or two ahead of us in terms of development and performance. The inability to close games out is a worry as was the slow start last time out. Hoping for a win, would settle from a draw but if we get beat, all is not totally lost.

Well, that went well. Any ideas on what went wrong or are Wexford that much better than us?. Although, going on earlier results, they probably are. Hard luck on the players. I have no doubt they didn't set out to be beaten by 8 pts.

Can't make the game tonight but i'm hoping to be at the game against Limerick next Sunday. Comprehensively beaten tonight, couple of late scores put a better perplexion on
the scoreboard. Trailed by 10 points for majority of the game, only scoring 4 points in the first half is not good enough to win any game at this level especially with 2 pointers part of the game now. For me, the next two games are our championship for 2025. Win our next two games to gain promotion. Based upon what i've seen, i fear we won't be promoted due to lack of scoring ability. I've written the team off previously and they've bounced back. I hope they can prove me wrong.
