Replying To Oldtourman:  "West Limerick has never been as dominated by football as some people make out. All 'lowland' West Limerick was hurling country up until about thirty years ago. It is only in later years that clubs like Adare, NCW and Drum Broadford have gone heavily to football. remember there are All Ireland Senior Hurling medals won by men from Tournafulla- a hill parish-, Killeedy, Broadford, Feohanagh, Monagay, Knockaderry, Granagh, Feenagh, Kilfinny and Adare and men from Ardagh, Coolcappagh, Drum, Ballingarry and Kilmeedy etc have all all shone out in the Green and White."
For many clubs football only happens by default ie if their knocked out of the hurling or cant win anything in hurling fellows play football as it doesnt require much skills or training if your already fit and football titles in Limerick are far easier achieved as less clubs take it seriously .
Half of the teams playing intermediate in Limerick could give a walkover if it clashed with a hurling match . There a re a few serious football clubs in Limerick like Fr Caseys but even senior clubs like Monaleen are a mish mash of good hurlers, soccer players, rugby players & generally fit blokes.

Rather not, trying to avoid being on crutches.

Been a while but nice to be looking forward to the new season. The players as a group I'm lead to believe were itching to get back at it and are keeping Cairbre on his toes.

The split season certainly has suited the vast majority of this panel. The next 6 or 7 weeks will be about finalising the championship panel, getting the regulars back into shape physically and mentally and getting more game time into the likes of Cian Lynch, Peter casey, Barry Murphy, cathal o neill, Adam English and coughlin as examples. I think Murphy of he gets a run of fitness and games can push hard this year and David Reidy will be the same.

It's great the entire back room team are all signed up again for another tilt at it. They're a super bunch to train by all accounts and the standards are being driven by the players more so than anyone. Some interesting early additions to the panel and it'll be interesting to see how David Mccarthy, Fergal o connor, Shane o Brien etc go over the next couple of weeks.

Great to be back.

Saw the highlights. Seemed to be some tasty points by Aidan o Connor and Shane o brien who will Both be interesting graduates from last years u20 team. Any one put their hand up from the lads making their debut ?
Cork seem to have found a few new lads but it's interesting the bulk of the scores from play are still from Conor lehane. Munster championship will be a dogfight again this year.

Think Shane O'brien has a big future in front of him. Feargal and Aidan O'connor both showed up well too

Have O' Dalaigh or Dwyer played much underage for Limerick. Look like decent hurlers

Can someone explain why the Limerick print and broadcast media have a difficulty with naming players who have been dropped for disciplinary reasons? The national media name them. Just curious.

I would saw fair play to them for nor broadcasting anything about players being dropped for disciplinary reasons. if a lad is dropped he is dropped, that is it. We are dealing with young lads here who at the end of the day are amateurs who have to face into work on a Monday morning and dont need rags and online forums dirtying their names for things that did or didnt happen.

We will look after our own and let the rest of the country say what they want to say.

Well if so that is fine but equally we should not comment then on players from other counties.

The incident bwing referred to now is under investigation. The player involved can only be named if he is charged.
