I had a feeling Louth would pick up where they left off and do a job on Meath. Impressive! realdub (Dublin) - Posts: 8678 - 25/05/2024 21:14:17 2547079 Link 2 |
First and foremost, Im a dissapointed Meathman. A proud Meathman, but any of you who know me from the Louth forum down through the years might know that I lived in Louth for a few years and even played a little in Dundalk. Young_gael (Meath) - Posts: 596 - 26/05/2024 11:16:25 2547165 Link 4 |
Good man Greengrass. How is she cutting? I did indeed get a ticket yesterday for the match. Did you get one yourself? What a performance from Louth yesterday. History made yesterday after 49 years of hurt from the Royals. Craig Lennon was my man of the match.

What a performance that was yesterday. The team has a real ruthless streak when it comes to goals and we have now scored 9 goals in 4 championship matches and conceded only 1. Meath couldn't deal with Craig Lennon at all, he was excellent. It was incredible scenes seeing everyone out on the pitch after the game, just a great day. The biggest of credit has to go to Ger Brennan and the work he has done and barring something strange, we should be in the last 12 now, great time to be a Louth supporter. Great win yesterday, never looked in trouble the whole game, Meath had only one goal half chance. This Louth team is goal hungry and have shown they can break down defences. 3 goals could easily been 5. Very assured at the back, dangerous in attack, an attractive and exciting counter attacking style. Think this is a breakthrough moment for a great Louth team playing with confidence. Both Sam and Dan were my favourite players today, Lennon and McKenny were great too, but it was the best Louth team performance in years. Well done to Ger for inspiring them and adding tactics. This team is hard to beat. an Lu Abu ninjasmyth (Louth) - Posts: 739 - 26/05/2024 14:47:12 2547212 Link 4 |
Congrats to Louth ye were far the better side and to be honest the scoreline could of been far greater, Mikey Harte started the Louth renaissance and Ger Brennan seems to have bought it up another notch, best of luck to ye in the rest of the championship. The performance was top notch. Monaghan will be a big step up and a different challenge. Well done to Ger and his team along with Sam and the players. Shearer (Louth) - Posts: 885 - 27/05/2024 13:20:38 2547622 Link 0 |
What a day it was on Saturday, disappointed with the Meath supporters staying away from this one, they normally have a good following but they knew what was coming. Louth fans class as usual and the game was over at half-time. Roll on Monaghan but this will be a big step up. joej (Louth) - Posts: 1601 - 27/05/2024 14:57:02 2547675 Link 0 |
Glad to hear you got a ticket Ollie. I got one too. It was a great day. We were by far the better side and fully deserved the win. We've a great platform on which to build. Hopefully we can go deep in to this championship.

Good Louth performance again, and getting a point ,a draw and going through is great. Monaghan were good but we were better and should have won it with 2 brilliant goals again. Think that puts up top of leader board on goals in championship. We were unlucky and possibly a bit naive in relation to the second goal, but Monaghan were always going to come into the game at some stage, a longtime div one team, they deserved a point with them pushing up on us and hitting hard also. Best of luck to them and a great day in Clones for both sets of supporters having a good day out in the Sun. ninjasmyth (Louth) - Posts: 739 - 04/06/2024 14:42:09 2549440 Link 0 |
