Congratulations to Carlow's wonderful women footballers. A serious achievement, built on hard work, discipline and no shortage of character. They have done the county proud. MLR are headed for relegation. You can see the dual clubs, and clubs from dual areas, really struggling in their secondary codes this year. This was a predicable consequence of removing our wonderful split season. Hopefully, it will be reinstated next year. But football should be allowed to go first, and it should rotate each year.
