After drawing the semi final last year I was expected them to be flying this year, in first game anyway, but they were hopeless on Saturday. I noticed they were missing two of their county lads as well which doesn't help in fairness but that doesn't explain how bad they looked as a team with no direction to their play at all."
Is their relegation in the SHC? Bagenalstown lose by 35 points to MLR yesterday, this isn't doing anyone any good

No automatic relegation so Bagenalstown will be staying senior unless they want to go down but I can't see that. Reality is they're still way too strong for all teams in intermediate possible exception being Naomi Brid who are looking good to win intermediate and they'll hopefully go senior next year. We need 6 senior teams even though it is unbalanced with the big two way out in front.

Bagenalstown showed against SM what they are capable of and did likewise in the semi final last year but as always with them there's no consistency at all. They were missing two strong county players in fairness who would have made a difference.

Ballinkillen Ciarán definitely - he's going to play for the hurlers and manage the footballers !

Don't be saying it's a long drive … sure Joe is only going up there to try convince Keith Doyle to throw in his lot with Carlow next year and is telling him sure it's only a short spin.

Not so sure they'd be too strong for intermediate

Depends on intermediate winners. Bagenalstown need MLR to win it otherwise they'll Go down.
Also, Myshall will be hoping MLR or Carlow Town win Junior to avoid relegation from intermediate.

There's no automatic relegation in the hurling championships. The senior championship is supposed to be minimum of 6 teams so Bagenalstown definitely won't be going down, unless they themselves push the county board for regrading but that won't be happening and would only happen if they could show they were losing a load of players. Next years senior championship will be 6 teams unless MLR win the intermediate.
