2 of our goal chances were 1 on 1 with the keeper and not half chances. Winning the matches is all that counts. You get nothing extra winning by 10 or more points?

I'd say mcGuinness is just happy to get through that today. It's not easy to get to the level they need to be at with the week break and they didn't get to it all and still managed a fairly comfortable win. If down had a little bit more of a forward threat then they could have got really close.

There was sloppy give aways going forward and some generally quite frustrating play and it just won't do against Armagh. Murphy was kind of cranky enough and probably was right to take him off. They took gallen off and mcbrearty and they struggled near the end to penetrate without them. Interesting that gallen did reference his injury and that he's good now. Hopefully it's just a matter of match fitness now.

The down keeper made some fine saves against femanagh as well. He gets out and spreads himself well. In the circumstances I think obaoil might have been better taking the point to keep the scoreboard ticking. They hadn't scored for a while when that chance came up.
Over all MC gee might still be off it a little but he's getting there. It was a lovely kick pass for the Doherty goal chance.

It's a Saturday i think to facilitate a double header of the men and the women. I guess demand will be great and expect a huge Armagh crowd there.

In what world are they half chances, and you're saying Down had clear ones but ours weren't because the wrong option was taken (in your view)? Sure aren't Down's only half chances by that notion, your man had Pat Havern waiting for the pass to score into an open net, but he took the "wrong option" and his shot was saved, so was that a half chance? Nonsense

Conor O'Donnell should have had a goal first kick of the second half. Daire and Doherty both clean through and the keeper saves. Clear cut goal chances missed.

Plenty to work on and Armagh will be favourites, but you're going OTT on today

And the player took the wrong option. Shooting when the keeper is basically on top of them instead of working an angle or taking an easy point or a pass.

Replying To Scenicparish:  "Scoreline flattered us? Are you for real? We were in second gear for most of the match and reacted to Down's scores whenever we needed to. The goals will come when they are needed.
Jim has to manage the team and substitutes were made at the correct time today. The bonus today is no more injuries. Roll on 2 weeks time."
Second gear in a big game is not a good idea. We were in second gear the entire second half last weekend too.
Im hope I'm wrong and our best performance of the year is in two weeks time all the same!
