I've heard nothing and I'm member of local club. Needs be breakdown of each club on tickets allocated and how many seasons holders got ones, at least transparent then...

Clubs had to reduce their orders, they were told to reduce juveniles tickets orders. That feels a bit unfair as they could be club members and also playing for their club. Jim has got everybody out supporting the team and some more.

More of a reason to think that he won't play. Mc Guinness doesn't leak team news.

Club memberships have been down in the last few years, shows that a lot of people were only joining clubs so they had access to county tickets. Loads of people got caught out this year thinking there would be no big demand for county tickets and didn't bother to become club members. Nice to see the genuine GAA club members getting the tickets.

Hi rorysboys: Keep them guessing as long as possible. Plan A for Patton and plan B for Mulreany.

Just rustled up some stats. In the last 8 league and championship matches between Donegal and Armagh it is 4 wins Donegal 2 wins Armagh and 2 draws
Aggregate score Donegal 4-121 (133) Armagh 6-107(125).Average 1 point per game for Donegal. That is from 2020-2024.A lot of the games were close,2 draws and 2 1point wins for Donegal. However there were 3 outliers
2020 Ulster S/F Donegal 1-22 Armagh 0-13
2022 Q/F Donegal 1-16 Armagh 0-12
2022 Qualifier Donegal 0-16 Armagh 3-17
It is interesting when you look at the scorers from that game back in 2020
Mogan 1-2,Langan 0-3,McHugh,Brennan,McGonagle,Thompson,O'Donnell,Murphy all 0-2
McBrearty,Fara,McFadden and McClean all 0-1

R ONeill 0-7,Turbitt 0-2,Clarke 0-2,Oisin O Neill and Grimley 0-1. Apart from big personalities like Murphy and Clarke having left the scene there will be no real big changes since then.

Hearing that Armagh have been allocated around 5000 more tickets than us, Personally I think that's disgraceful. Favoring one county over another when it could easily be 50/50 allocation as we've seen the demand in Donegal.

I think you need to give us a bit more information regarding your allegation?

Replying To rorysboys:  "Don't agree with you. Mc geeney has been a very unlucky manager on big days. Remember 2011 v Donegal they got a goal disallowed near the end , if that goal was allowed to stand donegal were beaten, then with Armagh Last year he lost the Ulster final on penalties and then lost to Monaghan on penalties in croker. . If he won them 3 games he would be praised as a good manager. Football is a strange game I'm just afraid his losing streak could come to an end on Sunday. Bound to be some hunger among the players but I still think it's ours for the taking."
You can add the 2010 semi final defeat to down and a crossbar away from a final. Also Kildare have done really well since they got rid of him!!!
It's also not like Armagh have been blessed with underage pedigree. Fair enough a minor win in 2009 but that's it and sure even a good minor team you'll do well to get more than 3 or 4 players off it. Crossmaglen are far from the all conquering club team they once were and can't backbone of a county team for them
The Armagh players clearly respect mcgeeney and are fully committed. He's a plenty competent manager.

Disgraceful if true.

I'm also hearing that there are no Juvenile tickets being sold for the Hill. Can anyone confirm if this is true? The reason being that the last 3 games Armagh have played in Clones there has been trouble on the Hill. If Donegal are being punished for the bad behaviour of Armagh supporters it's an absolute disgrace.

Is that true in fairness they are a well supported team. I was hearing 11k each and the rest to sponsors , players etc. I know 7 k sounds a lot. But if true we can't really have any complaints.

Maybe if more of our 'Fans' were members of their clubs we would have got more tickets. All I've heard this week is people who aren't members of their club crying about not getting a ticket

Is it possible Armagh got more tickets because they have more adult club members? There are a lot of juvenile Donegal supporters who go to the games who have not got tickets. It's a great problem to have, too many supporters.

On the game itself, I have a feeling it is going to be very much the same as the Tyrone game, cagey with both teams sitting back. Armagh are a very good side and it's still difficult to get a handle on where exactly we are. Our shooting hasn't been great so far, if we can start nailing those long range points then we will be a real handful for any team. We know this team will give it everything, we can ask no more.

Armagh have 52 clubs and Donegal have 40.Maybe that would account for them getting more tickets if that is the case.A 52:40 ratio of the 28750 would mean a few thousand difference. On the plus side it is a good job the tickets were not allocated on the basis of the attendance at the league Final when they massively outnumbered us.

I'm sure that situation has happened across both Donegal and Armagh, but my own club has gotten less of an allocation for the final than they got for the first two games in Celtic Park. How do you square that circle

I've one ticket for Sunday now after having two for the previous two games. It's out of the clubs control but it's a disgrace in my opinion that there is less allocated to the clubs for the final than what they got for previous two games. they should at the very minimum get the same allocation and that way everyone is looked after that was going to the games at the very least. Members have been shafted and again nothing the club can do about it. Speaking to the secretary it wasn't just us that got shafted in this way it was the same across Donegal anyway, I'd imagine similar for Armagh and a huge chunk gone to sponsors.

don't get me started on the season ticket scam

there is plenty to be annoyed about with the ticketing without spreading rumours about the behaviour of other fans. Armagh a great fanbase and support their county with plenty passion and colour. no basis at all for this sort of chat in my opinion

I'd say there are plenty of county fans out there who don't really involve themselves in the club scene at all.
Some of them would pay annual club membership soley to ensure that they get a county ticket when the team is going well. For those that don't pay club membership, it's a tough one to swallow. They might have have been to most games this year and now find themselves misisng out on the big day on Sunday.

But I think it's fair enough that club members, be they players, coaches, volunteers etc get looked after. There's more to the local GAA club than just what they're doing on the pitch at various age groups and levels. The local GAA club is a pillar of the community and those people up and down the country who keep the show on the road in good times and bad deserve the opportunity to get tickets for the big days.
