You think he is still acting as the coaching officer? And will be next year? Is that what you are saying? These lads move their chair in the room until they get voted out at the end of the year. He has no say in anything anymore.

Lol keep chatting boys they asked for no names to be leaked until ratified at CB meeting. S and C coach already there plus one former player from 2012 era as one of the coaches with him. You keep chatting to Peil20 lad if you want. The man who posted he would believe it when he sees it after Jim and team had already put things in place with CB. Stick the high stool ranting lads.

It has been refreshing to have you here Flaker, so far you have proved very accurate, and ahead of the curve. Pay no heed to Peilledor, I can't figure out what his agenda is. I see him having a veiled pop at Bonnar on the Jim Is Back forum. Hopefully the Coaching Officer and the current Childrens Officer (Former Chairman) have to foresight to stand aside prior to Convention, and not to seek election to any post. I hope Jim is locked into a contract for the next 20 years. exciting times ahead and whoever is on that senior panel now is going to work like never before, can he coax Mac Niallas back as well as Murph?

Even when he is addressing another poster I still get name checked. I'm honoured. This is after he posted earlier in the yesr he wouldn't engage with me again. Rent free. peiledoir20 (Donegal) - Posts: 958 - 20/08/2023 20:47:55 2501497 Link 0 |
There seems to be a lot of politics on here between club members.

I'll second this, Flaker has called things as they have turned out, while a few who have sought to defend the CB preferred to play the man rather than the ball, choosing to throw anti Mayo digs in rather than face the issues he posed. And like you, I hope those two individuals read the room, put their huge egos aside and get out of the way or progress. Donegal_abroad (Donegal) - Posts: 1378 - 20/08/2023 22:09:57 2501504 Link 3 |
Great to see that Jim is set to be ratified tomorrow evening. Will give the county an untold boost and immediately make everyone within the county a lot more optimistic about our potential fortunes and the rest of the country a lot more fearful of what we have to bring to the table. Will be extremely interesting to see what if any players he can coax back, but even without players coming back, the renewed vigour and optimism as well as the inevitable improvement in fitness and game-plan will have the players who were slogged it out last season in a much better place also. donegalforsam11 (Donegal) - Posts: 103 - 21/08/2023 00:18:31 2501512 Link 1 |
Nah not rent free lad I always persist in replying to posters who are clueless, especially those with more than one account. You just keep going unfortunately but at least other posters from your own county also know you are a bluffer.

The irony of a county board unveiling McGuinness to clubs tonight, a county board who have been questioned by those same clubs and asked to consider their positions. Yes here they are, surviving, continuing and endlessly hanging on. PeterQ92 (Donegal) - Posts: 109 - 21/08/2023 08:43:14 2501521 Link 1 |

I don't believe Michael Murphy will return, he said his decision was final, Jim or no Jim. Odhran MacNiallais might return, a lot depends on his current fitness and whether he would buy-in to the required commitment. I'm delighted to have Jim McGuinness back, as I have been very vocal here in recent years in stating that I believe we have the talent to be a top team, rival the top sides and that I believed player selection and tactical setup was holding us back. Now my opinion will be put to the test, as Jim has probably already got an idea of what he wants in terms of players and system etc and we will soon see if Donegal doesn't have the players or if as I suspected, we just don't have good coaches. I'd say they can hardly get enough referees, never mind having referees as linesmen. There's just so many more games on nowadays compared to the past. And you are also competing in a small pool with the dual referee, those who are doing both GAA and LGFA. At this stage, the debate will soon have to start in relation to paying referees, and paying them a decent amount. Also a debate to be had about using retired referees, or retired people whose fitness may not be of a high enough level to referee; but who know the rules, as official linesmen. It'll be a great PR exercise for them and I'm sure some might feel it'll gloss over the horror show of the academy and finances. Hopefully systemic change happens despite the welcome distraction of Jim returning.

Oh so you already know the names of the backroom team? Sure fire them out there so.

I'm sure Anton will be involved, but it's also interesting that Eugene Eivers, who was part of Jim's original S&C team, has resigned as S&C with Meath in the last few days. Jim could be getting more of the old band together.

Yes lad who now checks times of posts. Not weird at all. Number 1 i am back in Dublin. Number 2 I wasn't on here posting at 12.30 last night not that it should matter. Maybe you can contact HS about their posting delays and times. Since you seem to care.

Bringing back former managers doesn't always bring success. Eamonn Coleman returned to Derry for 4 seasons and wasn't as successful given that he didn't have the same talent to pick from. PattyONeill (Derry) - Posts: 243 - 21/08/2023 12:09:27 2501563 Link 0 |
