Well it's not 'clearly' when a few had to ask who they meant!! Why would we be the 'wrong' team? You have a chip to pick with us for some reason?!!!

I was just saying you were explaining ambiguity if that happens with several teams

New Manager announced, not Local as was expected.. Mike Solan (mayo) Will be interesting to see what route they go with local involvement or has he any connections or background within the county. #Putitup (Longford) - Posts: 46 - 27/08/2024 22:08:34 2567231 Link 0 |

Seems to be a good appointment for Longford..need to get decent backroom in with him now and sort out this mess..squad selection is massive too many good players not playing county ball for Longford,iv been to alot of club cship games this summer and 5 or 6 players that have stood out for me ain't in the county set up .who makes these calls for the players to be involved ?? Coach Solan had to leave the Leitrim assistant manager job last year it was reported due to work commitments so hopefully these have eased off and he can give the new role his full attention. Or maybe it requires less time constraints than the previous inter county role eslinchickenmaryland (Leitrim) - Posts: 274 - 28/08/2024 11:20:44 2567317 Link 0 |
That's correct. Relegation is... A5 vs B6 B5 vs A6 Both losing teams make the drop. LongfordgaaAbú (Longford) - Posts: 567 - 28/08/2024 11:59:19 2567344 Link 0 |
Welcome to your new role Mr. Solan. In the envelope in front of you is the address of the Duggan family in Newtownforbes and a map. You know the mission. Good luck. LongfordgaaAbú (Longford) - Posts: 567 - 28/08/2024 12:04:42 2567346 Link 0 |

No, 2 down this year and next. Reducing the championship to 10 teams for 2026.

Hopefully that's his first port of call. The way he was treated by Christie was a disgrace and unfortunately for us he could move elsewhere under the parentage rule, which could prove harder to get him back involved with Longford. To think Johnston had Duggan ready to come back only for Christie to say no. No wonder Johnston left before a game was played.

Also 2 down from Intermediate to Junior this year if i'm not mistaken? No relegation playoff in Intermediate - bottom two at end of the group stage go down. Ballymahon have Fr. Manning, Connollys and Killashee (the top 3 teams) left to play, so they are in trouble, which is remarkable considering they were in senior championship last year. Yea Johnston had Duggan coming back and Christie said no..He should be no.1 priority to get him back into the Longford fold. Oran Kenny from Rathcline also 2 of the best forwards we have in the county not playing for us ..need selectors who have watched the local games and bring in players who can actually play ball not gym monkeys ..Few games I have seen standout players arnt even on the county squad . Josh Kelly looks a decent player from kenagh need to get him , Dara o Connell is a good player can play multiple positions as is David Rooney from Rathcline not sure what age he is now but I seen Rathcline a few times this year league and Cship and he has been extremely impressive demands the ball and sets up Rathclines play .Shane Kiernan from mostrim also very good this year ,Darragh Doherty(Mostrim), Aidan Maguire(Carrick) Paddy Moran(Kiloe) all really lovely footballers..Bradys from Abbey all the above need to be involved. We need lads who can play football not rugby players and statues who spend the games looking at themselves ..it's dogs we need and fast movement LongfordTownie (Longford) - Posts: 4 - 29/08/2024 08:51:25 2567475 Link 0 |

Darragh Doherty was the other player Johnston had coming back in but Christie said no. I knew there was another lad along with Duggan, but couldn't remember until I seen his name in your post.
