If this is true and its a big if!! I am a big fan of Jack Duggan but what ever chance he had playing with Longford he wont see much game playing in Division 1 with Roscommon and in my own opinion will not get into the championship 26 man squad!

Lots of talk in Longford about it happening over the last year. Haven't heard it is definite however.

I don't think that is true, but there is a bit of tension between himself and Paddy Christie.
I think some disagreement happened in college in Dublin and reared it's head again last season in the league with Longford.
I don't think he will be involved with Longford this season unless they have sorted their issues out, but that does not mean he will be declaring for us either!

That's Duggan and Duffy who have both jumped ship from Longford. Is there a reason Longford can't hold onto their best players. Possibly these lads don't see this current team going anywhere under Paddy Christie.

Duffy was offered a professional contract in Australia Rules. He was perfectly correct to take up the offer.

Well, I have to hold my hands up and say I did not see that coming.

Will he be staying with Clonguish or transferring to a club in Roscommon?

Staying with Clonguish, Been rumoured for a good while and was treated very badly by Christie from what i heard. Not the only one too if stories are to be believed.

Yeah, I've heard some stories alright about what went on in training and it wasn't just Christie either.

It's a rookie contract, he is a long way off been offered a professional contract. He will be back without been offered a professional contract after 2 years.

Just to add to the Duggan situation, he would have played with a couple of our lads while over in Chicago.
That might have swayed him into looking into the transfer.
I haven't seen too much of him play at senior.
He looked to be the chief scorer last year for Clonguish and also played in 5 games for Longford in the league last year.
He could be a big loss to Longford in future years if he does well with us.

You obviously weren't at the county final or the first round of the u20 championship against killoe. I wish him well with the rossies and I hope he proves everyone wrong.

If he transferred to a Ros Club I believe he wouldn't be eligible to play for County till he'd first played in the Club Championships.
Cox encountered that too.

You came up from Leitrim for an U21 (not U20) match? Duggan has been the club's leading player for the last three years. I had heard the rumours but never thought anything of them until it was confirmed last night. The best of luck to him, it does not bother me, we just hope it does not eventually lead to a move to Castlerea

Parent rule you don't need to play for a club in the county. Cox played for Roscommon while he was still playing club champo in Kerry.

Oran Kenny not going back this season either I hear, bigger loss than Duggan IMO. All must not be well in there.
