2025 Intermediate Football Championship
"...The teams finishing 7th to 10th to play in the relegation semi-finals (7th plays 10th, 8th plays 9th) with the two defeated teams to be relegated to JFC A 2026, the winning teams to play a relegation final with the defeated team to also be relegated to play JFCA 2026." (My italics)

That's three relegated teams in total, the same process used in the 2024 senior and the 2024 intermediate.

I swear you're doing this on purpose.

If someone had to have explained that at the start it would have saved a lot of hassle.

Went for a walk around pàirc seàn today. The Grounds are in a Shocking state. I know a lot of money spent on the new pitch. But it very disappointing to see the rest of the grounds so badly maintained

Comfortable win in the end for Ballinamore, by far the better team today. Fenagh were very poor, apart from Ryan O'Rourke none of their big players performed, that's 4 semi finals in a row lost, I can't see them ever getting over the line now. Ballinamore in great shape though, a week is a short turnaround I know but they have the players to really worry Leitrim Gaels who will be experiencing a county final for the first time it's had the making of a cracker.
Allen Gaels passed a big test today, for long periods Annaduff were right in the game but once they got the fortunate second goal they kicked for home impressively. No disrespect to Dromahair but I can't see them not winning it now.

Ballinamore were always in control today. Not as exciting as the drawn game.Ballinamore will benefit from the extra game .

Annaduff should have been closer to Allen Gaels, as they missed some good goal chances.Dareen Cox was excellent and the 2 Obermans ,particularly Radac and Kilcline were good for Allen Gaels.

Dromahair can thank 18 Yr old Alan Gethings for a top drawer performance in getting them over the line against Dromahair. However they will be up against it in the final as Allen Gaels are an accomplished outfit with young players such as Jake Tobin available to spring from the bench.

The senior final should be a great occasion and it is hard to call a winner .

How did Dromahair get over the line against Dromahair please? Had they two teams playing thank you? This is very strange. Why is this?! Thank you very much.

Gethins the main man for Dromahair in fairness, stepped up to the mark, still believe Drumkeerin were the better team on the day but don't think either of the teams would beat Allen Gaels

Well done to Allen Gaels they are a class outfit and look like they have the players to win Inter and compete in Senior as well, Annaduff competed for about 60 minutes and could have been well up at half time but faded away miserablly at the end, theyre probably over reliant on Darren Cox and with their injury list were just out of aces at the end.
Probably a safe bet for next year

Personally I think Fenagh should go back to their traditional red jersey. In the deepening gloom of Pairc Sean yesterday I feel they found it very hard to see their team mates

Allen Gaels definitely have the power in midfield and quality in the forward line but unsure if their defence would hold up at senior level, definitely a big chance for them after last year. Drumkeeran very unlucky to not be in the final with them but at intermediate level one quality forward can have a massive say in tight games like that and Adam Gethins is a fantastic young player.

Why do you think it will be 90 years? Has your club five championship titles on the roll of honour like they do?

A novel senior final coming up, will be interesting to see how Leitrim Gaels handle the favorites tag. I just have a sneaky suspicion that Ballinamore might get over the line

Interesting to see Eamon Dolan has been appointed as referee. I think it could be could be a tough game to officiate. Decent referee and probably deserves the big gig, god knows he had a tough day in last years intermediate final.

Going by the semi final appointments, I'd expect Michael McGirl to ref the intermediate final. McCloskey or McMorrow likely to get the junior final, not really that man refs when you see the same names popping up all the time

Poor Weekend of football really. Fenagh never caught fire you feel. Hopefully Ballinamore have another gear for Leitrim Gaels...they'll need it. Any Word on Jim McGuinness was he down again this week?
Allen Gaels class act, stuck it out with a determined Annaduff. To much strength round the middle 1/3, McMorrow was on fire. Did Annaduff Management watch previous Allen Gaels games ?

Why would Jim McGuinness been down or why was he down before?

I wonder when was the last time in Leitrim we had first-time finalists against the team that's top of the roll of honour. On paper it doesn't come much more David vs Goliath than that, although Leitrim Gaels are doing extraordinarily well.
