How many tickets was sold to make that profit?. I'm guessing the profit is after taking out the cost of the house and advertising done on the draw.

Congratulations to the two clubs if that is the outcome It is not madness at all as they both have big capital projects. Unless clubs have good facilities and coaching they will not attract young players. Both soccer and rugby are now enticing alternatives for these youngsters. joeman123 (Leitrim) - Posts: 523 - 14/01/2025 19:06:42 2585917 Link 1 |

They would need to have sold circa 14 thousand tickets for that level of profit. I find that hard to believe. Co Boards from small counties will never get the same buy in as clubs want to fundraise just for themselves

I'm just of the opinion that a lot of money goes to waste on these projects. How many clubs now have astro turf pitches, state of the art gyms etc. I'd be behind the GAA building maybe another 2 or 3 centre of excellence type projects in bigger towns in the county. These facilities could be shared amongst the clubs in the area. Instead we have clubs raising and spending massive amounts of money on their own projects. I don't have a problem with any of the individual clubs more so the mindset of the GAA as a whole. southleitrim_mafia (Leitrim) - Posts: 120 - 15/01/2025 08:47:53 2585949 Link 0 |

Whatever about Carrick I don't think rugby will win the hearts and minds of young folk in Mohill or Gortletteragh.
