Replying To kentuckytucky:  "A morale boosting win no doubt, Waterford took the lead as well so credit to them from bouncing back from that defeat last week and to Coach Moran for guiding it. That Tipp Sligo result has definitely thrown a spaniard into the works and maybe there is a glimmer of a torch for us."
Hope the Spaniard survives. Sounds like a bad doing. :/

Thrown Spaniards around can be dangerous must have been a stag in Carrick.

Great result in Waterford- first win in five against a team that lift their game against us. Andy needs to fix centre half back position as we once again allowed a team to run through the middle. Will be interesting to see how Carlow cope with Keith,Ryan and Tom who were on fire. Impressive performances from the 2 Cullens and Jack Heslin who could be in contention next day.Any word on Jack Gilheaney?

Replying To JimmyNail:  "Good win today well done to the lads. Good score put up too (Keith Beirne was on fire today), off to Carlow next, they seem to be improving as they ran cavan to 4 points today so we need to be at our best to get a win there. No point looking beyond that or at other games need to look after ourselves. Good to see Shane Moran back in the panel, he could have a big role to play in the last few games. Very good Leitrim support down there too."
I'd wonder how highly Leitrim folk rate Keith Beirne now?

2 or 3 years ago i stated on here that he was one of Leitrims best forwards and got a few replies to say he wouldn't be starting with everyone fit and was at least 10 better forwards than him.

He's a fantastic player and is getting better. All the Beirnes are hugely talented guys, Mossy, Conor and Mark also. Keith is without a doubt the star player now and we are lucky to have him.

Results this weekend are massive for us. Need Cavan to win. Then we have a hugely tricky game against Carlow who seem to be improving every game they play

He's definitely our best forward at the minute.

Leitrim U 20s took another bad beating from Fermanagh this time. Very worrying.

After Niall Murphy and Gearoid Mckiernan. Berne is the best forward in Div 4. I think Ryan on his day would also be in the mix.

Are you really surprised at that?

A bit surprised at the manner of beating from both Fermanagh and Longford. I generally would expect us to be at least competitive in one of the matches. It is worrying because generally Leitrim teams make themselves hard to beat and you would have hoped for a reaction after the Longford result. Are Leitrim particularly short of talent at this grade?

In the 4 game round robin at minor level their "best" result was a 12 point defeat by Sligo.

Here we go again, talking up our players.
Its wasnt so long ago on these pages "we had the best forwards in Connacht"

Hardly. Beirne is one of the best forwards in Div 4 if not Connacht. As for others talking up players I can't comment on that but we have some decent forwards. It's not a crime to state that.

Ah the best forwards in Leitrim don't think even the person who said it believed it. But Beirne currently is one of the best around. Seems to have improved a good bit since he tried to transfer to Roscommon and we said no.

Cavan beat Sligo so Leitrim and Sligo now on 4 points each...but Tipp beat Wexford and on 5 points....Tipp still to play Cavan yet but looks Cavan going up its going to be a tight battle for second place...

Talking up? I'm saying he is one of the top 5 forwards in Div 4. I'm not saying he is better than Clifford or Sean O'Shea. Beirne is a fine footballer. Sweeney from Tipp should have been mention b4 KB also.

Obviously Leitrim have to win the remaining 3 games and that won't be easy. Even if they do I'm fearful tipp will beat Cavan next Sunday and if they do they will be promoted no question. It's in there hands now

I can't see Tipp beating Cavan in Breffni park. Cavan will win all their games, if they were going to lose then away to Sligo was the one they could have slipped up on. They didn't. They will want to win all games
