Melvin Geals ahead of the rest slightly if they they don't win it you can pick any of the other 5 remaining teams as they will all feel they have a chance

Very glad to hear somebody questioning the Melvin Gaels favourite for intermediate tag, simply cannot see the basis for it.

And you're correct they lost to a 'poor' Aughavas side' that bet Dromahair (a team currently at least in the senior division) on two occasions in the league including the league final by nearly 10 points. I personally think the intermediate is way ahead of the senior in terms of entertainment value. Quality may be lacking which is a separate issue (how much quality can you ask of panels with 20-25 men all down a lot of numbers Drumreilly, Aughnasheelin, Aughavas, Allen Gaels, Ballinaglera) but the want to win is there and unquestionable commitment,

Anybody can beat anyone on their day, what more could you ask from a championship

Agreed. Senior is predictable, intermediate and some of the junior games are nearly impossible to call due to similar level and depends who's available on the day, which makes for entertainment and genuine belief for at least 6 of the 8 teams involved in inter and junior A. Doubt any team outside the big 4 in senior thinks for a second they can win it out

I'm only going on them getting promoted to
Div 1 already this season and also in the final of the intermediate championship last year. They're now have 4 points and safely into the knockout stages with a game to spare. It's hard to call but if I was putting money on anyone in the bookies right now I would sway towards them

How does the Junior A championship knock out work? Is it top 2 in each group into semis? In that case Eslin would be out. Sorry to see a proud club like Gortletteragh taking such a beating off Cloone yesterday that was no good for either team. Apart from Carrick and maybe Mohill no other second team is near strong enough for Junior A especially with 3 intermediate teams joining next year.

I heard that Emlyn Mulligan and the Leitrim goalkeeper Nevin O'Donnell will be taking the reigns at Fenagh until the rest of the season.

Top in each group through to semi and 2/3rd in quarter final. So provided Eslin beat Gortletteragh second team they will be through. Gortletteragh bet them last year in similar scenario but by all accounts alot of them 2nd team players are pulled into their first team due to emigration and hence why they are getting a big beating. Like you said, no good to either team but the 3 teams dropping will hopefully even the playing field.

Junior hard to call but you'd imagine Cloone or Bornacoola. Teams will be eager to get up considering the 3 teams down next year.

Yes, a very strange scenario in Fenagh considering the only lost by a couple of points to the big teams and then hammering Annaduff. I have heard of the McCormacks walking on any team prior to this.

Is Mulligan not playing with Mary's in Sligo.. surely this will be difficult to balance.

yes so i believe too. Has Emlyn managed before. It'll be strange for O'Donnell to be managing some of his county team mates. not sure how that'll work.

pretty sure it is top team through to semi final and 2nd and 3rd placed teams go into a quarter final,
So Eslin can still progress from their group presuming that they can beat Gortlettragh.
it does not look pretty but it is Gort's 2nd team at the end of the day. Manor and Annaduff's reserves are competing well but would imagine it is Bornacoola's championship to lose unless Cloone can do something

Parting ways with proven winners and replacing them with novice coaches isn't the most clear cut way to win a coveted county title you would think for any franchise.

The McCormack's don't suffer fools. And they've the titles to show for it. I can't see it ending well for Fenagh.

Well they've tried every other way to win one so maybe this might work (I doubt it).

The players really have to prove themselves now. Could work in there favour. Just can't see what the new management has to offer. But time will tell
