Replying To williesboy:  "Hardly bring in Micky Graham?"
Leitrim county board should be wise enough to make the change. Thank Andy Moran for his service and bring in Mickey Graham as his replacement as he's more likely to gain promotion to Div 3 and give the Tailteann Cup and more decent rattle.

Replying To joeman123:  "How much are you paying Square D?

There are a few disasters in the county alright and they have been well listed here and in the Leitrim Observer ,but the team management is not one of them."
Jesus either you're suffering from stockholm syndrome or you're too invested now to admit the whole thing was a massive mistake. Either way you're living in cloud cookoo land. As as for money, it's a nice tidy sum annually when you add it all up and I know lots of lads doing the same. We're being mugged.

Replying To williesboy:  "Leitrim job be a perfect fit for him too and it's close to home and would avoid meeting Cavan"
No doubt it would & I know he's 'helping out' Ballinamore at the minute but I think his next job will be somewhere in Cavan or Longford... he could even venture into Westmeath if he wanted to. The Longford county gig is his if he ever wants it in fairness. As I've said, we'd be lucky to get him but I can't see him in with Moran.

I blame my new scout, Marty. He's not the same since he lost the car. Rest assured, they'll be no mistakes this weekend. Marty has been warned!

Replying To Hatchetman76:  "No one had a problem with it until Mohill bet glenfarne well in a final 2 years back, as far as im aware the rules about eligibility were brought in as a result and most clubs went along with it. I know a few lads in my own club got very little football last year because injured lads came back and took lads places and they weren't allowed to play for second team."
Carrick's 2nd team got to the Junior A final last year and should have won it too by all accounts- what are the county board meant to do, make it first 20 and cannot play reserve team until players have played/ are named??
Do that and you will see at least a 50% reduction on clubs entering reserve teams for championship, with less teams in reserve league the following year as a knockon effect. Bigger clubs will always have bigger panels, end of. Young lads are not gonna train 10 months of the year to benchwarm for 1 team clubs

Any new young players to keep an eye out for this championship? Except for the obvious McNultys & Moran's etc…

Aughawillan's Tom Plunkett is the guy everyone is raving about. Haven't seen him play yet, but from what I heard he is top class. I'd also include Allen Gaels Radek Oberwan, very powerful player. How old are Oberwan and Plunkett does anyone know?

Ballinamore's Michael McKiernan, Sean Harte and Paul Moran look good. Ben Guckian and Jack Casey are standing out for Mary's. Brendan Naughton and Ryan Cunningham from Gortletteragh are fine young players. Darren Cox from Annaduff is an excellent prospect.

Oberwan was togged on the bench for the last game against Wexford,he's a big unit. What position does he play we could do with a full back.

Final Whistle did commentry for a lot of club games last year. I don't know if they are doing anything this season?
They brought out a 2022 Leitrim GAA club guide as well.

It seems to have gone more or less by the wayside this year, hasn't it? Both the commentary and the regularly updated stats on the site were brilliant.

Hopefully. It's disappointing coverage as 2 big senior championship games on tonight. Neither Shannonside or Ocean are covering them, for any unable to get to a game it is frustrating. Getting back from work in time on a Friday evening is impossible tonight.

Predictions for this weekend. All games are guaranteed to be correct this time. Marty has been warned.

Dromahair v Leitrim
Leitrim should be strong for stubborn. Dromahair team. Leitrim by 8

Aughawillian v Ballinamore
Aughawillian will improve on last week's game but Ballinamore are flying. Ballinamore by 5

Manor v Mohill
Manor are having a good championship so far and Mohill seem to be depending too much on Keith Beirne for scores. Home advantage may swing this. Manor to win by 1.

Mary's v Aughnasheelin
Important win for Aughnasheelin last week but Mary's are a huge step up.
Mary's by 9

Fenagh v Gortletteragh
Must win game for both teams but Fenagh will have too much power for Gortletteragh. Fenagh by 8

Annaduff v Drumreilly
Annaduff by 7

Drumkeeran v Allen Gaels
Allen Gaels by 1

Melvin v Kiltubrid
Melvin by 2

Aughavas v Ballinaglera
Ballinaglera by 2

Bornacoola v Carrigallen
Carrigallen by 6

Well done to the u15's who won the Humphrey Kelleher Cup against West Cork down in Clare today. Great to see an underage team winning a national title, it's badly needed.

It is fantastic and they won it in style.

Coming on foot of our U16's reaching the Fr Manning Cup Final it is a big lift.

Great win for the u15 team, well done to all involved. A welcome shot in the arm for Leitrim football.

Strong argument for an 8 team senior championship as Gortletteragh , Dromahair and Aughnasheelin (to be fair they've suffered badly with injury) are off the pace. From what I've seen Gortletteragh will be the team to go . Looks like Aughawillan will be in the relegation too after last night's results.
