The weather is good, it is holiday time so put the following dates in your diary and support Roscommon ladies GAA teams in three ALL IRELAND FINALS.

This Wednesday 15 August.
Time 7.15pm
Kinnegad GAA, Manorfield, Kinnegad.
Roscommon v Laois in Under-16 All Ireland B Final

Saturday 25th July
Time 4.00pm
O'Connor Park Tullamore
Roscommon v Cork in the Minor B All Ireland Final
(Please note that the A Final between Kerry & Tyrone also takes place at 2.00pm

Sunday 2nd August.
Time ??
Croke Park
Roscommon v Fermanagh in the All Ireland Intermediate Final.
(Recommendation: There are some very bad seats for sale on ticketmaster for this final at the moment. Always use the map of the Croke Park stadium before buying tickets. I would hold back for the moment as no doubt much better tickets will become available. Not sure why Ticketmaster sell rubbish tickets first?)

Roscommon ladies have their own website;
https://roscommonlgfa.ie
where you can buy tickets for the match on Wednesday night.

Well done to all involved in ladies GAA in Roscommon. Some achievement having three teams playing in ALL Ireland Finals.

Time to look to the future with positivity rather than concentrate on SOME SELECTIVE negatives of the past which one or two posters posters seem to take delight in. It has been a great year overall for Roscommon GAA as far as I am concerned.

Exactly my thoughts.

Replying To yew_tree:  "Huge hype in Louth you say…the hype in Roscommon was off the scales. The league and provincials are like the FBD now…irrelevant and I'm not being smart but it's all about performances in July. Teams next year will focus towards peaking at the right time."
I agree. Mayos loss to Roscommon was 79 days ago and they are taking it as a permanent ranking of both teams. Most teams had a big loss in the championship and then went on to get better or maybe they just had a bad day. Not the Rossies though, it's engraved in stone that they beat us and that means they could be in a final. No mention of their huge loss to Monaghan.

Replying To endgame:  "Roscommon got a run on Mayo in that second half. There was huge hype in Louth last week and it got to their players. Best of luck to ye v Kerry. Maybe a young Mayo team with no baggage is your best bet of an All Ireland. As for Roscommon, we were capable of a good run in the All Ireland series but flunked it. Too much about winning a Connacht title. That Nestor cup looks less shiny by the day."
Mayo played Roscommon 79 days ago.. team has changed hugely. Most teams had a big loss in the championship and moved on. Mayo doing well now…

Replying To endgame:  "Yes but Louth collapsed yesterday due to the hype in the county and Cork were poor so Mayo had a handy run to the final. Despite being unimpressive and lucky today, I fear Kerry will beat Mayo easily in the final. As for Roscommon, it was a year where we could have gone a lot further in the championship but the dancing at the crossroads after winning a provincial title can't have helped the team's focus for the All Ireland series. Lessons to be learned hopefully for next year."
When Roscommon lost to Monaghan it was a collapse…when Mayo won to Louth it was a collapse by Louth but when Mayo lost to Roscommon it wasn't a Mayo collapse! I think give Mayo credit where it's due

Couldn't agree more on your final sentence

I think it's 1:45pm for the Intermediate final on August 2nd. The girls deserve the max support possible and in order for that to happen our county will need to start adjusting fixtures as it clashes with round 1 men's club championships

Hopefully our Co Board/Clubs will move the 2nd August Championship games to allow supporters to go to the Ladies Final in Croker.

Let's take the credit IF we win the All Ireland. The fact is Mayo are judged on winning All Irelands because of all the finals we lost, doubts and criticism (even if unfair) will continue until we win it. If we win Sam all the narrative around Mayo changes forever.

In fairness Roscommon are coming from the lower base of what's considered success but Roscommon need to look at achieving a big win or two in Croke Park in championship and build from there. Are Roscommon any worse than Louth? I don't think so, in fact on paper the rossies have just as much talent if not more.

We had to learn to walk and trot this year.
Hopefully be able to run next year.

Email has been sent to clubs today regarding changing fixtures for that day. And proper order too. Well done to all the ladies teams this year and let's hope the next few weeks bring even more success

Replying To Happyoutpout:  "Will you give over. You're not still going on about Roscommons win months ago at the beginning of the championship when Mayo clearly had a new young team and their defense was poor. They are different team now. Despite Louths collapse as you call it, Mayo played with class on Saturday. You're talking about a match that was held in April….we are now in July. So much has changed. All of the teams have evolved but you want to keep us back to the standard in April. Every team in the championship as had a bad day where they lost out by a lot. It's the new game. Move on…"
Hardly a new young team, 11 of the starting 15 and used subs either played or were on the bench for the 2021 All Ireland. 15 players were involved in last years Connacht final with Galway. A lot of high level championship experience in that team plus the addition of a few very talented young lads. Some of the older lads not getting started now but there is a great blend of youth and experience.
I firmly believe Andy Moran was targetting Connacht and it was actually good fortune ye were knocked out early. It has become apparent in hindsight now that winning a provincial is no advantage for the All Ireland series and could actually be a hindrance. It will definitely be viewed in a different light next year by counties. The only show in town now is knock out championship and getting to the Croke Park games. We fell well short this year and it needs to become priority number one now for Roscommon. Roscommon probably didn't learn enough about themselves in the narrow loss to Tyrone so there'll be plenty of reflection on what happened against Monaghan for next year. Getting a good beating earlier in the year seems to have done Mayo and Kerry no harm.

Good post. Sums a lot up and hard to disagree with any of it.

Seen the last 20 mins was a great watch - i will be in croker reluctantly say its a long time since i have been to a womans game but will make the effort. Some great stories within the team of close calls over the past few years Kate Nolan eddies sister coming back from a serious knee injury, Laura Mannion coming back from having a baby afew months ago, 22 point defeat to leitrim, county board stepping down hopefully they can finish the job. Great week for the Roscommon LGFA with the u16. Minor and intermiediates all in the all ireland final."

Thats an incredible statement. Why would you bother going if its putting you out so much. I have been fortunate to have attended the last 3 ladies games with my daughter and it has lifted our spirits after the men's team tame exit in Clones. Looking forward to Croke Park in August and great to see Fermanagh in the final as well.

With respect because i agree With a lot
Of your posts Andy
Moran and mayo have had a run of luck
With the draws they've got and fair
Play to them they won them all however had they drawn a Kerry instead of Louth in the semi final they most likely wud not be contesting an all Ireland final and no one wud be talking about them
Provincial winners got no benefit this year and I expect however they do it that will be changed next year -
Let's not forget Donegal took a good beating from
Down earlier than the Kerry game and with the exception of Dublin the provisional losers didn't progress either proving imo Whilst
Peaking at the right
Time is important the luck
Of the draw is also the defining factor for mayo this year
Now they have a one off chance to win an all Ireland against a Kerry team that are probably the best team in the country but for
Whatever reason have been spluttering along for
Most
If the championship
So good
Luck to them but it's good fortune versus and master plan

A tiny sample of teams actual win All-Irelands with any sort of regularity, so for the rest of us (including you and Mayo) the league and the provincials have great meaning when they are being played. The championship takes over for the summer but the league games next winter will bring great joys and disappointments again. It would be great to see a Connacht team win an All-Ireland as it might give the rest of us some hope, but I reckon come January the first round of Roscommon and Mayo's league will be far from irrelevant, as you say so yourself. Enjoy the final but don't belittle the rest of the season."

Kobe 18, Byrne 19, Mcgreal 20 - all starters were all involved with u20 this year. 2 players that started in final in 21 started last Saturday. Average age of starting team was 24.

We had a home
Draw against Tyrone and blew it ourselves with open wide defending and an unfortunate poor kick out which was punished. We then got a draw against Monaghan which we failed to turn up
Against. In previous years we have blew it against Clare , Kildare and Cork. You make your own luck and we have never been good
Enough to do that. Hopefully next year we can.

Last 5 AIs:-
2022 Clare (won 0/drew0/ lost1)
2023 Kildare and Cork (1/1/2)
2024 Armagh (2/0/3)
2025 Cork (0/1/2)
2026 Monaghan.(0/9/2)

Understatement to say we must do better next 5 years.
2024 only half decent AI series.

Interesting to see how some of our own under 20's do in the club championship in Roscommon, having beaten a Mayo team in the Connacht final who had a couple/few players who will now play in a senior All Ireland final.
Eoghan Carthy, Michael Gillooly, Nikita Berzins were all impressive defenders while Niall Heneghan and a few others are also worth keeping a close eye on. Minor Enda Browne if he continues to develop also looks to be a very special talent but should not be rushed.
In fairness to Mark Dowd and his management team they did bring several young players through this year.
However the more competition for places in the senior panel the better.

Best of luck to the ladies under 16 team and management in the All Ireland Final tonight.
