Very hard to know where the Gaels are at now as well after that performance against Castlerea. Castlerea v WG for the drop. Brigits game will just be a blip but a huge boost for a good glaveys side. I do still have them as favourites just for the sheer strength of their starting 15 and bench. But Boyle and Pearses will definitely be in the mix regardless. Clann had a great 1st half v Faithleachs but dropped off, Ciaran Lennon was exceptional but 1-12 will not realistically be happening again in a half when he is against a team with better man markers. The draw will tell a lot- a chance we could see Boyle v Brigits, Clann v Brigits, Boyle vs Pearses . Any one of these pairings could really open up the championship to the remaining teams. Roscommon Gaels will be hoping to avoid Pearses and Brigits at all costs in a quarter final, being seeded might come back to haunt them. Relegation looks to be a tough one to call - everyone predicting Western Gaels to finally succumb to relegation after a number of years in the mix. Dominics are missing Keith Doyle and this could be a huge factor. Castlerea will have enough in my view to stay up but I do see these games being very tight. When only scoring 0-11 with the new rules in place for higher scoring then issue was a lot more than just complacency. Their response to that defeat will be fairly telling now. @sourmilk a lot goes on during a league campaign with commitment player availability etc. Championship football is where sides are fully judged. First two group wins was them getting back to winning ways the win against Brigids showed reaching and very close to winning the county semi final last year was no fluke.
