Probably the pivotal fixture in the group for second place. Kerry will beat everybody and win the group. A Meath win in The Hyde would almost certainly give them second place and a home preliminary quarter final. It's a must win game for Roscommon.

I thought Cork might pip them, after seeing Mayo and Galway last week struggling to pick up the intensity levels after the provincial final. Didn't see the game so not sure how it panned out performance wise. Meath will be coming with a pep in their step now and will be expecting to beat us. I hope we bring a big crowd to the Hyde. I know we've mentioned the word "if" before nearly every game since March, but if the lads can put a big performance in they will have a good chance of winning this. Huge game and a must win really.

Meath would have won by double figures had they brought their shooting boots. 32 shots Meath had to Cork's 21.

Maybe Burke and management are targeting the end of the groups. Provincial finals seem to have taken their toll on some teams. But if Monaghan are our barometer, they look streets ahead. Very impressed with them. They seem to have a very good set up and style of playing. Nice blend of youth and experience.

Hope Kevin McStay is alright. Football is only a game in the scheme of things.

Beat wishes to Kevin and hoping he makes a full recovery.
Monaghan looked very impressive playing a good style of football, good game plan and well organised.
Opposite of us last 2 months.

Looking at the full first round of games I'd give us no chance of beating anyone except Clare, Down, or Cork.
Of course we could get to a quarter final by beating Cork and Down...

Time to get behind the lads in The Hyde now. Whatever has happened the last few months they are well capable of turning Meath. Not trying to be disrespectful but our senior players need to get a hold of the group and drive the team on in a different attacking style direction on the day.it happens in club the whole time. Even the national soccer team did it in Paris when Trappatoni was at the helm. They've given us great advice the last decade and they owe us nothing but at the same time there's young kids who've had very little to shout about in The Hyde and now's the time to put in a performance.

More important matters best wishes to Kevin McStay and I hope he is recovering well.

Kevin McStay is always a gentleman. So dignified in defeat which is never easy. Gave Roscommon supporters a great day in the rain in Salthill in 2017. Best wishes to him on a full and speedy recovery.

So it's being said.
Had we a training camp this weekend?

Haven't heard anything in terms of training. Just that two lads walked heard one could be Doyle or Fallon but that might be untrue. But it's not a good sign when lads walk and players having a meeting about a couple of issues

God that's not good if true.

And there's a wedding next week so they'll definitely be down at least one player with that.

Out of respect for the players I'm not going to name them on here but one was dropped on disciplinary issue and other one released due to injury. Neither was Doyle,Fallon. Meetings are regular and was pre-arranged before any of that happened. Useful A v B challenge was had this this weekend with a few of the players that missed the Kerry game back in action and showing well.

So we can expect changes to the 15/20/26 from Killarney?
Hopefully heads are right and we tear into what's a winnable game.

Thanks Analyser. Rumours always spread when a team isn't going well. There should be a big crowd and good atmosphere in Hyde Park on Saturday evening for what is a very winnable game against the Royals.

No one was released due to injury. One walked due to the poor treatment of management to a teammate.

Its what I've been told and i know the Player in question hasn't played all year due to injury. Walking due to disciplinary issue of another isn't very wise.

Anyway what is done is done now. We need to focus on the 30 plus players involved and hopefully the 26 selected and 20 who play provides the work rate and intensity to get us over the line for a positive result on Saturday.

Need the backing of big home support also as Meath support will travel in big numbers

Whatever has happended I hope they can put it behind them for this weekend. Even just for themselves, the players have given up a lot and trained hard, some lads with not too many years left either. We really need to go after Meath hard. They have played a tough Leinster final a few weeks ago and now will have only the week since their Cork game. Need some of the senior players to really step now.

It would be wise to get the truth before posting and adding to rumours.

I'd be afraid Meath fans will out number us, hope we get a good turn out.
