Tyrone in Omagh is a tough place for any team to pick up two points. intentions of staying in d1 would likely rely on the three matches in Hyde park and the trip to Castlebar to face neighbours Mayo.

It's a while since Ciaran Heneghan played for us. Cathal expected to sit out the opening two rounds. We are lucky we just got a few injuries from playing on that hard surface in the dome the last three weeks. Stack not staying on for a 3rd year was known within the Brigids camp for months. Anthony Cunningham was approached once he stepped away from his role with Portarlington. The_analyser (Roscommon) - Posts: 4043 - 25/01/2024 15:48:40 2522058 Link 0 |

Another Kilmacud situation about to develop. Are Brigid's getting ready to sign players on the transfer list. I wonder which position is first up?

?????? Anthony Cunningham lives in the Brigids area, his son plays for them. He has managed them before. Seanfanbocht (Roscommon) - Posts: 2299 - 26/01/2024 11:16:53 2522151 Link 0 |
I think he's meaning the signing of a goalkeeper

He is probably on about Brigids looking for Conor Carroll to transfer, Has to be said Pearses and one or two other have asked him also.

I'd be very disappointed if Conor transferred to any Ros team other than Kilmore. He's steeped in Kilmore DNA. Didn't an ex Dublin Minor goalie who moved to Brigids territory transfer to them for 2024? Seanfanbocht (Roscommon) - Posts: 2299 - 26/01/2024 14:39:29 2522200 Link 1 |
Just wondering whats the story with Richard Hughes for this season, is he committing to the county? I'd be very disappointed if he wasn't available, thought he was very good for us in so many games. Just saw a clip of his winning point against Galway in the league back in February and wondered what's the story this year as I haven't seen him involved yet in FBD league ComainRos (Roscommon) - Posts: 148 - 26/01/2024 20:01:21 2522244 Link 0 |
He's in Australia. Team for Sunday, would expect one or two changes before throw in. Conor Carroll David Murray Evan Flynn Niall Higgins Niall Daly Colin Walsh Eoin McCormack Keith Doyle Dylan Ruane Cian Connolly Donie Smith Declan Kenny Diarmuid Murtagh Ciaran Lennon Conor Cox Subs Colm Lavin Senan Lambe Luke Glennon Patrick Gavin Caelim Keogh Jack Duggan, Adam McDermott Andrew Glennon Daire Cregg, James Fitzpatrick Tadgh O'Rourke Best of luck to Roscommon on Sunday The_analyser (Roscommon) - Posts: 4043 - 26/01/2024 20:19:51 2522248 Link 1 |
Great to see Tadgh O'Rourke back in the 26 after his very serious injury. Looking forward to see how Declan Kenny (good potential) and the other new lads get on as they will be tested. To really progress you need two/three/four new players breaking through each year and making the position their own. No Brigid's players involved which is fair enough. Hopefully they will be back as soon as possible. Safe journey to all those travelling to the game.

Missing at least 6 starters. Massive task sourmilk93 (Roscommon) - Posts: 1207 - 26/01/2024 23:08:42 2522276 Link 0 |
Cian McKeon and Conor Daly travelling also. If they'd all only stay around Tulsk and Elphin for a season, we might win something. What changes do you expect tomorrow from the named starting team Analyser.

Best of luck to management and players for the season ahead. Its only when you see the panel listed do you realise the players from last year who are unavailable namely Ciaran Murtagh, Cian McKeon, Conor Daly, Richard Hughes. Add in the Bridgids contingent and Enda Smith and its a lot. SmokieRoss (Roscommon) - Posts: 279 - 27/01/2024 13:04:29 2522352 Link 1 |
Two reasons why I expect change. Daire Cregg singled out for extra praise during the pre-season and then not named to start. Only 1 of our 7 NFL games last year did we start as selected. The_analyser (Roscommon) - Posts: 4043 - 27/01/2024 13:08:33 2522353 Link 2 |
Didn't realise that analyser! The first game of the League is always a step into the unknown especially with so many changes to the squad. Add in the Brids lads and Enda unavailable. Well be doing well to get anything out of this game. Didn't expect to see James Fitzpatrick making the bench till later in the campaign. This is a make ir break year for him. Also has Gillooly given up on the County scene? Seanfanbocht (Roscommon) - Posts: 2299 - 27/01/2024 14:22:26 2522382 Link 0 |
I see that Mickey Harte has sprung a surprise tonight by having Conor Glass, Ciaran McFaul and Ethan Doherty in the Derry team. They must have not have drank too many pints in the Glen Clubhouse this week. Will Davy spring another surprise tomorrow, or will the Brigid's lads need a week or two more to get their heads and bodies right? letsgetgoing (Roscommon) - Posts: 731 - 27/01/2024 17:25:12 2522425 Link 0 |
