post excuses here......(maybe it was the red card)

going to be some cric tonight seeing all the old rossies in their usual haunts, jerseys on trying to get anyones attention who will listen to while they lost again.

Replying To eoinog:  "I genuinely wish you luck against Cork. Some of you had lost the run of yourselves, strayed over to our side with daft posts and then ye started picking how many All Stars you had. Ye were duly dispatched. This week I noticed a much more low key approach and the hype has been put to bed. Most Rossie supporters are sound and I love a bit of banter. I hope you win, it will be great to have 2 Connacht counties in the last 8. Plus Paddy Joe is probably the best character in the GAA at the moment. John 3.7 wasn't really replaced until he came along."
ros fans talking themselves up???????? never

how long is the drive from cork to galway, might leave the pub before they get up this far, the dullest bunch on the island to listen to

That's uncalled for. True gaa supporters feel bad enough after a championship loss than have digs thrown like yours. Well done to my neighbours on a great victory and commiserations to the Rossies who had a fine league and just lost two tight games. Beat Mayo a d probably shuloukd gave beaten Dubs and had a great league. Best of luck to the Rossies goi g forward but today is Corks day.

I wonder why people put USA as their county as It's not like it is a county. I am domiciled in USA also, but Cork is my native county. I thought that was a fighting display from Roscommon against an upcoming Cork side, and that's what it's all about! Fair play to Rossies who traveled down and hopefully make a weekend of it!

Good game, hard luck Roscommon, well done Cork.
Would have to feel sorry for Daly for giving away the free at the end, no pressure on him.
Enda Smith made a bad decision to run it also and then gave 3 a bad hand pass and got turned over.

No excuses .. Cork punished sloppy play / mistakes and were the more clinical team. Disappointing for a battling Roscommon team but Cork move to QFs now. Enjoy your evening. Go easy

Hard to pick the bones out of that. Complete control for 30 minutes and then?? Cork pushed up and disrupted our possession game and we had no plan B. Kick outs imploded, lucky to get away without conceding more than 1 goal. We had the best goal chance of the game and didn't take it. Mistake under no pressure when we had posssesion lead to winning score but there were mistakes everywhere. So disappointed. These 1 point losses in injury time are heart breaking!! Back to square one, we need to find a different way and be able to change things, we became so predictable. Hopefully all this group stick together and stick with Davy and his vision. He has plenty of time now to review and assess what way we move forward.
Well done to Cork, fully deserved their day and best of luck to them next weekend. Very gracious group of genuine fans.
Finally, thanks to Davy and his staff and every player that put in the effort again this year. We will be back and ready again in a few months.

Excellent comments on game. Felt any criticism of Enda Smith is extremely harsh, he was immense. Conor Cox should have shot. Cracking match

Well done Cork, great home support too. The best team won. Feel very sorry for Ros players and management. They left everything out there but came up short. Corks fitness levels look unreal.

Rossies very unlucky at end but didnt do enough in the 70 minutes to beat Cork. Poor Dalys individual mistake a cruel blow for a good player.

Best team won. They looked fitter and better condition In second half alot like Kildare last week. Disappointing end to the year but Burke has made us competitive in every game this year and staying in division one was massive for us . We have 5/6 young footballers that will be looking to push some of the starting team next year. Well done cork. Brilliant supporters

Keith Doyle made a huge difference at midfield when he came on. Agreed, thought we became predictable. We took some great scores but Cork seemed to come by theirs much easier. So many errors as well. I feel sorry for C Murtagh and Donie. They've been brilliant but time is running out. Hope they can keep going.

So you came on the Roscommon thread to throw that out! Let us know what pub your in so that the rest of us can be spared your words of wisdom.

Well done Cork, I don't think there is any team left that you can't take and other than Monghan for family reasons I'll be rooting for you.

Well done Cork on your win. Tough to loose two matches in a row by a point. The team played better this week but some errors let us down. The players, management and supporters gave it everything this year so I am certainly not going to blame individual players and put the boot in when they are down.
Have a soft spot for Cork after attending the Jazz festival for many years. The Cork supporters were very gracious on winning and I wish the team well in the qualifiers.

The kick outs were a problem in the second half. We're not good enough at midfield so Carroll wasn't going long when Cork pressed and Cork intercepted a number of our short kick outs. That improved when Keith Doyle came on and he caught some good long ball. Always tough to lose by a point but the same thing happened last week and last year against Clare so it's not just bad luck. We need more players and hopefully they'll come through next year. Daire Cregg was good when he came on. We need Ultan Harney back. Davy Burke will learn from this year and perhaps we'll see a more attacking Roscommon next year. Roscommon were woefully lacking in ideas when in possession in injury time when we had a chance to win the game. Best of luck to Cork next week. They were just that bit better today and deserved the win. Enda Smith deserves a mention. He has been outstanding in this championship and hopefully Roscommon going out at last 12 stage won't impact his chances of at least getting an All star nomination if not an award.
