Firstly best of luck to Davy Burke. Great to have Eddie Lohan on board. Serious coach who who knows every player the length of the county and commands a huge amount of respect from the current panel.

Having looked back on posts I'm very disappointed with the lack of respect for two past underage managers who brought our teams to all Ireland finals. The u21 finals were lost to some of the greatest players to ever play the game. To dismiss their coaching ability is laughable and if they weren't from two of the smaller clubs they wouldn't be receiving such disrespect when they were linked with the senior job.

On another note there is a crisis with county board coaches coming into primary schools in the county. I don't think people are aware but the majority of schools are not receiving any football coaching. This is ridiculous and I wonder where is the money going. I'm not putting in another cent to club rossie or fundraising until things improve.if it wasn't for the teachers there wouldn't be a bit of football being coached and it's no wonder Creggs rugby is hoovering up talent. Don't even mention hurling. The county board have given up on promoting hurling altogether and if it wasn't for the current hurling GPO who is a great man it would be dead in the county ten years ago. I'm quiet angry about this as having moved home last year my kids have gone from getting coached once a week for 6 weeks in football and six weeks in hurling which is the least they should be offered from the GAA. I help with the club before people start giving out.

I don't think Strokestown will trouble Galway or mayo champions and in fact they could get a trimming and I daresay it was probably one of rhe more open championships and the weakest one in years with no stand out team.

Now that you were wrong you might re-think the strange idea you had it was weak Roscommon championship? while no stand out team in Roscommon at the moment there was still plenty of teams (Boyle,Strokestown,Ros Gaels,Brigids,Pearses) who should always be competitive in Connacht so long as they are prepared right. That's a more healthy position than one team dominating a club championship.

Replying To letsgetgoing:  "Eoinog, you have been using a fictional name and throwing cheap shots at various Roscommon posters for years. In fact you seem to be obsessed with trying to annoy Roscommon posters for some very sad reason. I think that is very reasonable having looked at the match to say that the black card should in all honesty should have been a yellow as the player made a genuine effort to get the ball, and it was a push in the back of a Strokestown player before the critical goal. They were marginal calls, but I think the ref got both of them wrong. In addition, the player did not take the free kick for the goal from the correct position.
Having said all of that the best team won and I wish them the best in the final.

I personally won't be replying to any of your posts again and I would urge Roscommon supporters to do the same as all you are trying to do is cause another row."
I love the way you finish your post by saying that you won't answer my posts again and you are "urging" other Roscommon supporters to do the same. Seems like you believe the other posters are brainless and you are advising them to stay clear of me cos you wouldn't know what I might say and lead them all astray. However I will give you credit as you state that the best team won. I was answering a post from a chap that used the entire post to be critical of the referee.
My crime ?? I stand up for the ref. There's always tight calls in a game. I believe Galway were in tough luck when their corner back was deemed to have committed a foul in the latter stages of the All Ireland and a handy point for Clifford. Even the panel on the Sunday Game could not agree if it was a foul or not. Examiner, Indo, Times had no issue with the black card, even the reporter Egan said it was contentious, which isn't saying it was a wrong call.
My earlier crimes that you referred do really was again just standing up for Cunningham. He was getting loads of flak for losing to Clare. Yes you should have won but you didn't. Maybe the players need to answer that.
On a positive note the coach from Clare will now be on your sideline as he served his apprenticeship before he takes the Sligo job.
Maybe you can go direct to the admins of the Hogan Stand and get me permanently banned as if you believe I incite trouble among your fans, some by the way who have more than one account.

His dream seems to be to have Anthony Cunningham managing Sligo in a Tailteann cup Final.

Any word if that final member was added to Davy Burkes backroom? He mentioned he was hoping that there would be one more addition. There were rumours about John Rogers.

Hearing the lads are having it tough in training the last couple of weeks. Majority of the u20 team over the last couple of years getting a look in. Few of them very impressive with Mark McHugh not taking it easy on them.

Now is the time to do the work as with 7 NFL games in 9 weeks in Spring plus Rhubarb game 2 weeks later won't be time then.

The Bus was leased, with the annual cost of leasing and running the Bus covered by sponsorship, contributions from users and i might add none of the club Rossie membership contributions was used to finance the leasing of the Bus.

During a review of income and expenditure over a decade ago it was decided to examine alternative ways to offset high Bus hire costs and the possibility of leasing a Bus was proposed. The project would not have proceeded were it not for the involvement of sponsors and when initially approached about becoming involved with Roscommon GAA they opted to become a sponsor of the Bus project, over other opportunities within Roscommon GAA, as it was an innovative concept and gave their business nationwide exposure, which could not be matched through traditional sponsorship or marketing opportunities. Similarly, the Bus has assisted in the marketing of the Club Rossie brand, resulting in savings on marketing expenditure.

The lease period is now finished and the Bus is the property of Roscommon GAA County Board and will be a long term income generator, providing additional money to other areas such as Coaching, the preparation of teams and development of infrastructure projects.

That is good to hear. Run them into the ground early on and they'll be flying in January.

What do we think of our chances in the league this year? I'm fairly confident we can make a move.

If you can believe all you hear Donegal are in disarray, Monaghan will be rebuilding so we'd want to be winning those 2.
Armagh a winnable game.
After that would be nice to bate the 2 Connacht neighbours.
Well get nothing in Tralee and getting Tyrone first game is a good time to get them.
I have us on 12 points already....lol and all that

Routine win for Dominics in Páirc Seán this afternoon. Game won by half time when led by 8 points, the highlight was the great Daire Keenan goal before the break. 2nd half bit of non event truth to be known with Dominics winning it 4-2. McCormack Lohan, Hurley, Appleby, Doyle, Keenan among the stand outs

What they didn't want out of this game was injuries and fingers crossed the injuries picked up by Jack O'Beirne, Jack Lohan doesn't rule them out of the final and a final i hear will be played next weekend against a Dunmore team whom had two weeks to prepare. The usual lack of common sense from the Connacht GAA
