We couldn "brush" Meath aside never mind Donegal. Lets face it Galway have proven fallen short in last few years and again this year when we looked like genuine challengers.

Replying To jp_coyne:  "I get what your saying but from your list there are some who are never fit, and mcdaids best position is in midfield. I should have said half forwards. D'Arcy, tierney hardly shoot anymore and in fact shoot way less than they have in past.

Our half back line doesn't take shots on goal either.

We never put teams to sword. When galway got 4 points out of 7 from handpasses in 35min last week does that constitute shooting enough?

If there was a statistic for shots attempted I dare say galway are well down list.

That's what's driving fans cracked. Yes I agree we do have good forwards argument but where's the production?"
The lads are afraid to shoot. I'm not even joking. They're afraid to hit a wide. Fact.

When in comes to championship football the only sides Galway have brushed aside are poorly organised teams, that certainly isn't a Donegal team managed by McGuinness. Last year was a fine margin contest. 1-14 to 0-15 both 15 scores each and both had 27 shots on goal. Same kick out stats and turnovers.

Replying To JimB1991:  "When have they proven that? There victory over Dublin last year was more about dominating the middle third in the 2nd half. Walsh waa brilliant in the 22 final but didnt get much support. Were are these examples or evidence of the Galway forwards coming up againat another top team in a big game and shooting the lights out?
I would have been delighted to get Galway in the semi."
Of course you would be delighted sure your Mayo hasn't reached All Ireland Quarter final the last two years.

No, I'm from Donegal. Feel like we would have been well equipped to deal with Galway and owe them one from last year.

I believe the players are there to win an All-Ireland but the competition is fierce but Galway at this stage of the teams development should have beaten a young Meath side on a upward trajectory but still only finding their feet. I cannot understand the first half tactics of playing endless lateral football outside the arc and expect it was another Joyce tactic that backfired and allowed Meaths young team to compose themselves and grow into the game. Why didnt we go direct and test Meath, sow doubts, only the players and Joyce know why. I dont see why anyone would expect anything different next year with the same tactics. For me in 2026 we need to be topping whatever group we are in to have any chance to win it out. Let Mayo or Roscommon win Connacht as what point is there in putting so much energy into that competition. Play young lads in the league, not like Joyce does with flogging the likes of Maher, Kelly, Conroy all through the league. Even if we get relegated we need to conserve players for the real big games. I dont see any player stepping away apart from Cooke, Conroy. Comer looked really well when he came on, a few Armagh fans were asking why he wasnt brought in earlier, again only Joyce knows the answer. Also why didnt he start Paul and bring Peter in for the second half and he swopped the goalie out again and Gleeson made great saves but takes too long to take kick outs. Its all very disappointing and there is so much commitment from lads to stay involved, we need to freshen it up and try and keep as many as possible of the team in place for 2026.
