As a Galway man. Im fairly worried about the match tomorrow. Everyone tipping Galway. Look at the rugby result today. Don't follow if but I heard everyone say they felt Leinster would win handy. Cork nearly caught Kerry. Mayo are a goid sidd. Galway just about bet Mayo this time last year with a very similar pick. If the crowd get behind Mayo and they get ahead going down the stretch, will our heads drop? Will they run out of steam?

Being a good team on paper isn't worth a thing if Mayo beat us tomorrow.

If I was a Galway man I would discard the win against Roscommon straight away as we were so bad that even most middle of the road Div 3 teams would have beaten us.

Mayo might be as bad tomorrow? I doubt it in front of their home support. Galway before playing with us was well beaten by Kerry,Dublin conceding big scores and Kerry,Dublin were less than great against Cork,Meath since then. You also only drew with Tyrone,Derry two teams Mayo are as good as if not better.

I'm a full neutral tomorrow hoping for a good game that shows Connacht football in a good light in front of the RTE cameras and may the best team win.

Hard to say, both teams will probably change before throw in, heard kelly struggling. If true u are missing 3 really good lads, joyce looking at winning an ireland so loads of football even after tomorrow regardless.

Ah no need to worry about that, sure didnt ye win the senior all Ireland last year..... more or less

Good test tomorrow, be a good boost to win it without the injured lads. Cooke will have to start to get games into him, and think Galway's physicality around the middle should mean they dominate the kickouts and thats massively important now with new rules.
Conroy, Cooke, Tierney well able to kick two pointers and McDaid, should be good weather wise so think we should be winning it, maybe by 2 points.

Clare, on the 4th of April 2025 it will have been 28888 days since Sam visited Mayo. Will you update S1234 please? Ha!

I'm the same. I think belief in Mayo will surge with Comer and Walsh out, plus Durcan will give a huge boost when he comes on. I never expected there to be much in it, and I'm expecting a Mayo goal tomorrow which would close that gap. It'll be very very tight.

I don't envisage any heads dropping no, unless we're getting absolutely hammered. You don't seem to be too aware, but Galway have an excellent record 'down the stretch' in Castlebar. Anyone watching this fixture for over 50 years knows that neither team tends to 'drop the head' down the stretch, and these clashes tend to be won by the team that makes a few key plays late on.

I'd like to retract this comment. Liam O'Conghaile…great man to come on with 5 mins left and get a score!!!!!

Congratulations Galway. Took the scores that mattered. 4 Nestors in a row.

That's a sweet one alright. Hernon is a great bit of stuff off the bench. Might have to be without a few more all stars to give Mayo a chance next time. Not having Walsh, Comer or Maher in that second clearly wasn't enough!

Mayo will be sick with that one. Played great to get back level then kicked some bad wides. The old failings came back. Goal chance was kicked straight at the keeper when there was the whole other side of the goal to aim at.
Good win for Galway in the end but has to be a worry how dominant Mayo were for long spells.
A big question mark whether either team will make much progress beyond the group stages.

Conor Gleeson has been scapegoated for years but he has made decisive match winning contributions in back to back Connacht finals

Another flip flop. Criticising players before a ball is kicked is never a good idea but at least you own up to your mistake.

The Galway penalty was an awful decision.
