Galway ladies football seems to be in dire straights from what I'm hearing. Players not receiving thier travel expenses, being asked to contribute to strength and conditioning costs, stopping at petrol stations and having to buy their own snacks on away match days are some of the issues that the team and management have faced during the league. Have to feel that if this was in Cork the players would be on strike at this stage. kevinmac (Galway) - Posts: 2 - 16/04/2024 22:44:45 2538454 Link 0 |
I asked a simple question? Someone has to change as Black and Maroon are difficult to differentiate.

Been a long time since I've noticed a lad from Ballinasloe on a starting championship team at any level for sure.

There are certain players that are colourblind, which is why Galway played in white last year. Including one on your own panel

In the U20 Sligo come from 4 points down to beat Mayo by 5. Mayo finish 4th and go out. Roscommon hammer Leitrim so Roscommon finish 1st on points difference over Galway. Marooned (Galway) - Posts: 2341 - 17/04/2024 20:14:01 2538709 Link 0 |
Damo is fine too. Let's stop the shadow boxing and get some serious championship time into himself and Walsh. Mgmt wrapping them in cotton wool would not end well. Play them - they're ready.

Yes neutral venue for the semi final Hyde Park perhaps?

No need to rush them back when they haven't played any of the league. Give them some minutes off the bench on Saturday and then let them start the Connacht final. I'd find it very disheartening for the likes of O'Curraoin if we see Shane starting instead of him against a team that finished fourth in Division 3. If we were playing Mayo this weekend it would be a different story.

You're right it will be a Neutral Venue. I'm a bit glad Galway will get the extra match compared to Roscommon going straight through. These competitive matches help build the team for what lies ahead. Hon Galway.

How do you know they're ready? Galway played Kerry at the weekend - Comer played zero minutes. If he was ready as you say then he would have surely played some of that game, no? galwayman2 (Galway) - Posts: 1302 - 17/04/2024 22:17:15 2538737 Link 0 |
even if injury is cleared up, they need to be eased in gradually. very common to pick up another muscle injury after returning from lay off. would love to see them get 20 minutes or so. Mayonman (Galway) - Posts: 1915 - 18/04/2024 12:32:17 2538827 Link 0 |
Sure half of the best 15 in the County don't even make themselves available for selection. Is it any wonder with this type of stuff and worse going on? There are All-Irelands there for the taking if the conditions are put in place for the players.
