Still played for Tuam and has family connections there.

I accept that Claregalway may have a young profile but I know for a fact that they have a number of players over 25. I could be wrong about all of these but I am almost certain that D.Cummins, P Commins, M.Rohan and D.Hennessy are over 25. Could be more as well. So, less of the porkies."
Sorry they are still a very young team.

Replying To GDL:  "I think the gap is still quite big between the so called big 3 and the rest, I was in Pearse Stadium, Sean Kelly looks burned (he has played some amount of ball), if Moycullen get him freshener with Cooke back they will be hard beat, Mountbellew are just getting Michael Daly back, he had a serious knee injury, Patrick Kelly is also just back and when their game fitness improves they will be slicker. I read the match reports from Tuam and noted Corofin were missing 5 or 6 big players, Daithi and Ian Burke, Leonard, Canney, Steede and Ciaran Brady, naturally they will be less effective missing that quality, Tuam appear to have been missing Garvan O'Connell who is a big ball winner in the middle for them. If Corofin are missing them lads the next day it gives Milltown a big chance."
I felt the same about Kelly in Pearse Stadium. He lacked confidence, there was none of the Sean kelly spirit in him. He would pass the ball when we all know he's capable of driving through and getting the goal. I don't rate Moycullen yet, they scraped by, Cooke and Wynee were the only two on their game last week.

In fairness to him, he's not long back after injury and being away. He hasn't played much football since the Mayo game, in which he clearly wasn't fit.
Maigh Cuilinn have also been mixing up their team a lot this year, with different lads missing at stages. If they get their full panel together, they'll be hard go stop.

Great to see. It's been too long. Fair play to Killannin on winning the U19 West title. A great achievement for a small club.
I think it's Tuam and Corofin in the North final. Tuam looking the double.

It always surprised me how he came out of "GORT" and made the Galway team. Gort/South Galway is almost 100% hurling. Fair play to him. I don't remember any others from South Galway making the County Team. Maybe someone else knows.

A great group coming through in Tuam which is fantastic for the senior team are they are in need of fresh blood. The midfielder McGinchey looks to already have the physicality to play senior football, I wouldn't be suprised to see him in the Galway U20 setup next year.

I agree, they have a solid bench too at any given day, if they're all on their game they are incredible. Their Westport game last year was some of the best football I've seen in years.

Plenty of chat about Claregalway here and I couldn't help but notice on Tuam's social media (finals since they last won it) that Claregalway been in 8 minor A finals in the last 11 years. They have won 2 . That's some amount of players and they're still not competitive at Senior. What is going on in that club?

Maybe they've had it too handy playing ball underage.
I've seen that happen young lads before. Senior is dog eat dog especially if your used to having it easy in games. They definitely lack a bit of the dog from what I've seen of them

Any idea why the delay in fixture details for next weekend. I believe the club shave been informed unofficially of the fixtures but no sign of anything official from County board. They are usually out mid week of the week before the match although understandable nothing issued until after DRA decision .That was last thursday night though

They were intermediate for almost half of those 11 years, so that answers the first part. Hard to be competitive at senior when you're not there.
In the last 6 years, they have been gradually improving at senior but they have a way to go yet. I would say they're competitive. Getting to the last 8 and losing narrowly is competitive. They're not contenders yet though.
It's worth remembering that some of their better minor footballers end up hurling with Turlough.

Why hasn't there been any fixtures released yet for the semi finals??

Do the clubs know when their playing even? How do they plan training this week if they don't know if their playing Saturday or Sunday?

What's the hold up?

I was just going to say the same thing.

Monday morning at 11.25 and no fixtures for a senior county semi finals on Saturday/Sunday is some joke.

As far as I am aware his parents are from Hollymount in Mayo or at least one of them is.

Alan Kerins - albeit he played his football with Salthill-Knocknacarra, but hurling with and from Clarinbridge.

I may be wrong but I think Cillian McDaid won minor all Ireland hurling representing Croughwell and later played football with Monivea.

I would definite competitive as competing for titles. What you are describing is participation.
