Replying To PierreBezuhov:  "He wasn't fouled. He fell backwards.

We can all see how bad he is. His team mates can too. It's not fair to the man to keep picking him."
It seems that Conor Gleeson is number one and bar injury he will be starting as they will not change keeper when they start championship. It is what it is and we need to get behind him.

Replying To GDL:  "Two massive points, the Ref gave us nothing today our big players stood up, Sean K, Daly, McHugh, Tierney drove us and Conroy is a machine. We've a bit of steel and never say die attitude installed, missing 5 or 6 players but we are building depth and getting over the line. Winning ugly is important and we did that today."
Heaney..2 crucial points, both with his left

A hard won victory and fair play to players and management for doing the business up there, especially after all Armagh's rousing talk of getting us back for last year etc.
After Rafferty's parading up the field all evening, with the fist in the air signalling while he carried the ball a couple of times, it was nice to see Tierney's fist in the air putting the ball past Rafferty into the net! A great win.

A great win. Big mentality.

They love Rafferty up there, but he offered nothing.

Agreed he was very good again. He took an awfull late tackle in the first half but he continues to work awfully hard.

An outrageous stat given to me last night.
9 of the starting 15 from Galways 2020 U20 team saw action last night.
On top of that Jack Glynn was unavailable and Conor Flaherty and Tony Gill have both played Senior for Galway in previous years. That's 12 from 1 underage team.

With six starters who played no part in the AI final, missing Silke, Molloy and Glynn at the back, and missing Comer and and Cooke , this was a huge win. Credit to PJ and Co for putting faith in untested players against top class teams. Sean Kelly had a massive game on Rian O'Neill yesterday. We could be set to meet mayo in three huge games this year if we get to NFL final.

In fairness since I was critical about Heaney and Conroy a few weeks ago they have really upped their game big time so fair play to them. Good to see new players like McGrath, Hernon and Maher getting a chance. They all contributed to the positive outcome which was done without some important players like Cooke, McDaid, Comer and Burke along with Mulkerrin and Molloy still out injured. I saw the goal conceded and I'm sorry to say Gleeson is not anyway good enough under the high balls and other teams know it at this stage so they will continue to bomb them into the square - they know they will not get goals every time but once during a game may be enough! Sean Kelly is not a natural fullback either because if he was he would probably be able to help out Gleeson better than he is doing currently. I said before that our full-forward line needs to be Culhane, Comer and Finnerty with a slight change in half-forwards now that Heaney is back to his best form of Heaney, Tierney and Walsh. Kerry next week could be the toughest game for Galway so far as Kerry are always a bit of a bogey team for Galway even when Kerry are not at their best.

He's great. Gets crucial scores and takes chances too when they come his way.
He got hit with a serious shoulder that time. I have to say the shoulder was perfect, on the money. But Heaney not only got up but scored later on.

Another character building win last night in the athletic grounds. Building good strength in depth in panel now with more of 2020 U20 All-Ireland winners seeing more game time and holding their own in Div 1.

Reaction of the players and management to that result said it all. Very good opportunity to reach final and win the league title now.

Culhane made a great impact when he came on. Two great scores.
I think I'd prefer to keep him in reserve though. We need somebody that's able to come in with fresh legs and make some kind of impact on the scoreboard.
A great problem to have!

Best Scoring Forwards: Cullhane, Comer, Finnerty, Tierney, Walsh & Heaney. Are they our starting ones come Championship?

Galway has always been a fine footballing county and I praise it whenever appropriate. Even last year I was hoping ye'd win Sam on AI final day.

But the question is: what are you doing on here? Surely, it is not possible for you to know less about football than you do about hurling? Then again, it's you Tommeen, so…

While i admire your honesty about watching the rugby, i cant let it pass without comment. I too watched the rugby because i had it recorded and watched it when i came home last night. I dont want to sound bigoted, as i love all sports and ordinarily wild horses wouldnt stop me watching the rugby live. But my love of Galway football is that bit more. You may be a genuine football supporter and if Galway get to AI final you may deserve a ticket, but, in my opinion, i hope its not at the expense of someone who wants Galway football that little bit more.

Took me nearly two hours to drive up from Meath, pure luck that I got a handy parking spot. Must be some spin from Galway to Armagh.

There looks to be serious competition for places now which is good.
In defence, I would have Daly, S Kelly and McHugh as definite with the other 3 from Glynn, McGrath, Fitzgerald, Hernon, E Kelly, O'Flaherty and potentially Molloy.

Up front, Comer, Walsh, Heaney, Tierney as definite with 2 from Culhane, PKelly, R Finnerty, Burke, Sweeney.

In the middle then 2 from Cooke, Conroy, Maher, McDaid, Paul Kelly

I wouldn't bother picking my 15 as most of the above have been good at different stages. Great problem to have when 4 weeks ago all the talk was about the players missing.
