I really hope ur telling the truth and not just trying to get us all going! Class act but as I said before he needs to be all in. The last year he played for us he looked miles off the pace. Ian Burke at full tilt is a joy to behold. Mayonman (Galway) - Posts: 1894 - 17/11/2022 15:49:24 2447946 Link 0 |
He must have maroon and white tinted glasses. Cleaned out in midfield in every game I seen. You'd feel sorry for the defence behind that midfield, not much you can do against teams like Mountbellew and Salthill if you've an ocean of space in front of you.

Anyone take a punt at the the best referees during the club championship. Just go top 3 as naming 15 might be rude!!

Frankie had a good year as always, but isnt getting in a full forward line ahead of: 13. Ian Burke 14. Dessie 15. Barry McHugh GalwaysFinest (Galway) - Posts: 191 - 18/11/2022 09:33:01 2448000 Link 0 |
More often than not, bringing back players who 'had enough of it', to bolster squads looking for that bit extra to get over the line, doesn't end well. Can only think of Brian Corcoran, with Cork around 2003-2005, as a very successful 'prodigal son'.

Agreed! Just think if you're talking about possible Annaghdown players he deserves a mention.

Few of the Dublin lads over the last decade too and left for a year here and there.

Of course. Jimmy Keaveney, Ja fallon, Kevin Walsh . The list goes on. Form is temporary, class is permanent. Ian Burke falls into the second category....class. Welcome back Ian. Super excited about his addition. anotheralias (Galway) - Posts: 960 - 18/11/2022 11:30:41 2448023 Link 0 |
James Molloy has been good.

There was a Portuguese fella in a different code too. He came back, not sure how it worked out. smallfrank (Galway) - Posts: 443 - 18/11/2022 14:05:05 2448060 Link 1 |

That's right. Pepe went back to Porto. He's done very well for them, even at this late stage of his career. A good move for all parties.

Congratulations to Dunmore. I hope ye win Connacht and go all the way. Once a game of football broke out in the second half ye played some lovely football and were miles the better team. GreenandRed (Mayo) - Posts: 7704 - 19/11/2022 16:29:07 2448169 Link 2 |
Clifden and Dunmore join Moycullen in knocking out the Mayo champions. All three will be hard stopped from winning 3 Connacht titles. Yondu (UK) - Posts: 845 - 19/11/2022 16:36:27 2448174 Link 3 |
Thought Dunmore looked in trouble there for a long time until about half way through the 2nd half. Suddenly they rattled off 5 or 6 points on the spin and never looked back. Marooned (Galway) - Posts: 2302 - 19/11/2022 18:32:15 2448184 Link 2 |
That was a right slugfest in Tuam this afternoon. 7 each on 60 minutes without stating the obvious defences was on top and both had a focus on possession football in slippy underfoot conditions. Yondu (UK) - Posts: 845 - 20/11/2022 21:27:35 2448252 Link 1 |
It was a proper slog for sure. Real winter football. Moycullen took control in the 2nd half but were very wasteful. I think it was 11 wides to 2 at full-time. Fair play to Strokestown for pegging back the couple of points late on to take it to extra-time. The goal was key for sure. The short kickout is risky when handling conditions are tough and the pitch is soft. Westport weren't at the races at all last week, so that game will do Moycullen more good.
