Replying To togoutlads:  "Dunmore, Kilconly, Aran, Brendan's all looking good. Glenamaddy also motoring well and nobody seems to be talking about them. The business end of intermediate c'ship should be great.
On the downside, Cortoon, Oranmore-Maree and Williamstown very much on the slide. Cortoon lost a lot of players after Savage retired. Williamstown likely to be struggling for numbers, as their underage is amalgamated with Glen and Glinsk. Low population areas / fewer young people must surely be biting now for some of our rural clubs outside commuter areas. At the other end of the numbers game, you'd expect OranmoreMaree to be improving. Big numbers there and while it's a dual club with more of a hurling tradition, underage football is building real momentum there. They should get a lot better over time but could drop this year. How Aran Islands do it is something to be really admired. A great club and super competitive on the field. It would be a massive achievement if they win it out."
Given their population base, Oranmore Maree should really be senior in both codes. Their hurlers are going well in fairness but the footballers seem to have gone backwards recently. Should not really be in a potential relegation fight down to junior.

Cortoon playing Moycullen B at the weekend. Moycullen B are extremely weak for intermediate level and it's possible Cortoon could win this game by 10/12 points + and actually avoid a relegation battle for this year. The relegation system is a bit unfair including the 2 worst placed 3rd placed teams as it's totally dependent on the teams in your group.

Replying To Marooned:  "Mulkerrin has been named on the subs bench for both Aran's games. Don't think he's actually got on the field yet though. Have my doubts that he will figure for them much during the championship. I'd say the plan is to get himself right for the league with Galway early in the new year."
Clubs had to provide a panel for the championship programme before a ball was kicked.
They probably just named him as a token gesture.
There isn't a separate programme for each game - numbers etc. are to be as per that original programme published in advance of the start of the championship.
He wasn't togged for either game.

Yeah fair play to arainn they are doing well.
They seem to have been able to hold onto a lot of the decent players they had when they were junior.
Loads of those lads still doing the business now to compliment the few younger lads that have come in since.

Who plays London in Connacht Championship 2023? Do they rotate like New York or is it open draw? If they do I think we are up in 2024.

We missed our New York trip which was a pity. I had assumed we would get it when they were back into the Championship but obviously not with Connacht Council sending Sligo.

Trying to work out my travel for next year (slow day at the office!).

Donegal, Tyrone, Armagh and Monaghan in D1......... I hope they are our home games......would be tough travelling away to all of those! Away to Mayo and Ros is not too bad. And wouldn't mind an overnight in Killarney for the Kerry game!

Some battle between Brendan's and Oranmore. Brendan's 6 up at half time. Oranmore come back to lead by 1 heading into injury time. Brendan's score a goal a minute into injury time to put them 2 up and Oranmore score 2 points after that to draw level. Game ends all square.

Interesting results last night and today, well done Athenry; we are disappointed but never pushed on enough last night..
Tuam winning Junior A but in fairness how were they still down there? Big step up to Junior next year.
Today I see Killererin well bet by Headford who probably are safe, Cortoon hammered Moycullen second team ( is it true Savo togged again) Aran had a great win..
Tomorrow should be a cracker

Very disappointed with our lads today just 6 pts v glenamaddy. Can't see us progressing in quaters.

Stayed for the Caltra v MB. Caltra will be having nightmares in how they let this game slip.

Dunmore and Aran have been the two stand out teams during the group stages I think. Knock out from here on though so bigger tests are ahead.

Caught the 2nd half of Moycullen Tuam..
Moycullen in second gear against a slow ageing unfit Tuam team..
Tuam going no where, Moycullen and Peter Cooke making great strides...

Killererin have to be favs to drop, after yesterday. The departure of TJ as manager has accelerated the demise. A man that played in 4 intercounty AI finals (won 2) managed Galway minors, and as player manager-led his club to extra time in a provincial final, where they lost to the A1 champions. He needs to be involved if they are to have any hope of winning a relegation game of any kind.
