Its not quantity its quality, many teams relied on a few families Connollys in Cashel, Burkes in ST, Cooneys in Sars, Cannings in Port. They tended to be big families also I think cashel had 5 Connollys on the team when they won AI, God knows how many Cooneys, Cannings and Burkes there are. Families are smaller these days and once the family generations drop they tend to go into the abyss. The up and coming teams are more balanced like Loughrea, Bridge and possibly Turlough. Once this great ST team is at an end I think the future will be around city and town teams add Athenry, Oranmore to the mix, possibly Mellows and Cashel also as they are prime to have transfers into the club, players do not want to travel huge distances to train 2-3 times a week and play on weekends, I think there will be merging of country clubs to compete which may not be a bad thing either.

Kinvara by 7? M/E bet kinvara 1-28 - 2.08 last year? I was at it kinvara were embarrassing, im expecting a massive kinvara performance even for them to sneak it but for them to win by 7 is stuipd

Very different this year, Kinvara are flying it. I am not the only one that thinks it, Greg Lally tipped Kinvara by 6 yesterday on the maroon and white podcast. I think the other games will be tight do, should be a great weekend of hurling.

The bookies must have taken note of your heroic track record of tipping, as they've installed Kinvara as 8/13 favourites with M/E the outsiders at 6/4. I'm surprised by that tbh but there's a reason you don't see these folks on bicycles I suppose. The Kinvara youth proved their worth, whelan and young martyn had great games, M/E backs were useless only for downey and the 2 flemings eyrecourt had nothing, you know mattie kenny was shitting it when he brought on paraic shiels in the last 10 mins they were all over the place but deserved their win in the end

Thank you Katser, M/E contributed hugely to an excellent game and as they say, lost nothing in defeat bar the match itself. Semi finals are for winning though, I suppose. When the game was there to be won coming down the stretch the better team grabbed the nettle.
