Our club have never been in a Senior hurling final either. Won a couple of Senior Football titles though these were pre TV days. Even black and white TV!!!!

You're wasting energy debating with this simpleton tbf The pick of the non-county panellists wouldn't keep it pucked out to the county team ffs Stool Pigeon (Galway) - Posts: 906 - 07/07/2023 11:27:24 2492849 Link 2 |
What's wrong with golf?

I'll type it slowly for you. The probability is that the best opportunity anyone has to beat the current Limerick team is in the AISF. The Final brings a unique pressure which they have shown they can handle in a fashion none of their current challengers can. If Limerick get to the final they will be hot favourites to win it. Does that make sense to you? Stool Pigeon (Galway) - Posts: 906 - 07/07/2023 11:32:11 2492854 Link 1 |
Great atmosphere and feel good factor around Galway, lots of maroon and white flags all over the place. Huge Galway crowd heading to Croke Park and the amount of people saying they think Galway will win. Confidence is high and the team are ready for this one. katser (Galway) - Posts: 2482 - 07/07/2023 12:54:24 2492883 Link 2 |
Yes Katser. Big crowd going up from my area which is both hurling/football in pretty much equal measure. I know big support travelling from certain football heartlands. People who are just great GAA folk and will support all things maroon whatever the code. Have a quite confidence that our guys will carry the day tomorrow.

Let's hope it's the same way or better AFTER the match. Ha ha ha. Galway Abu.

That's my point. Galway could only beat them 3 points. Was it 16 wides?

No doubt that there's room for improvement. We will not get away with this against Limerick. We have played very well and hard for the last 2 1/2 matches let's see if it all pays off. I expect it to be very physical.

18 wides - if there are 18 wides today or 19 wides as against Limerick last year it will be curtains for Galway. The wide count has to be kept below 10 to have any chance.

Massive Galway crowd on the road. I hope the weather holds up. Dublin is buzzing, Galway by 3. GDL (Galway) - Posts: 776 - 08/07/2023 14:57:30 2493128 Link 1 |
Total capitulation by Galway in the second half. I for one hope it's the last I see of a few of these players... Some players have given a lot to Galway, but it's time for a few of them to hang up their coats. Jackson88 (Galway) - Posts: 72 - 08/07/2023 19:37:35 2493167 Link 1 |
Congratulations Limerick. No debate, no argument about the match. THE BETTER TEAM WON. Best of luck in the Final. Thank you Galway for the great effort and dedication. Galway Abu. Trump2020 (Galway) - Posts: 2282 - 08/07/2023 19:50:13 2493173 Link 0 |
Limerick were all over us in the 2nd half. They looked to have a lot more players on the field than we had. Why did the goalie persist in hitting the ball out long when 2 or 3 backs were loose to pass it out to ? Henry ought to have been able to take some action to stem the flow. Every ball that went in to the forwards in 2nd half were gobbled up by the Limerick defence. We seem to have regressed since last year. We now need a radical re-building. Limerick still look unstoppable. FatLadySinging (Galway) - Posts: 91 - 08/07/2023 19:59:09 2493179 Link 2 |
Absolutely septic tactics from Shefflin. Right when we had them by the throat he switches to a one man full forward line and next thing they reel off four scores in a row. Crowding our half forward line was the exact opposite of what was going well for us for the first half hour. Even worse he persisted with a one man full forward line for the whole second half, reminiscent of a Davy Fitz team. No progress in the last two years and I'd be sending him back to Ballyhale tonight. He brings great passion for sure but you could find a 100 managers in Galway that are boisterous on the sideline. Croke Park is where the pressure tells on the sideline. I'd be on the phone to Eamon O'Shea in Salthill straight away. galway19 (Galway) - Posts: 806 - 08/07/2023 20:06:42 2493181 Link 2 |
The problem is who's there to replace them. If there was real pressure from newer lads we'd be seeing them. I don't say this lightly, but that was men against boys since the end of the first half. The scoreline actually flattered us in the end. We hardly laid a hand on them in the second half and looked completely incapable of stemming the tide. At the same time we didn't have time to breathe when he had possession and got turned over regularly. The result was inevitable from very early on in the second half. A very disappointing end. Congrats to Limerick. As we already knew, they're a super team. WanPintWin (Galway) - Posts: 2224 - 08/07/2023 20:10:05 2493183 Link 4 |
I think Galway did keep their wide count below 10. At least if you're hitting wides you have the ball to hit them. Galway didn't have much of the ball at all for about 50 minutes of that match. Terribly poor stuff from Galway; no bit of spirit or fight in them at all.

Just on the way home from Croke Park and wtf was that 2nd half!! We just completely gave up and stopped hurling, threw the game away. If they were going to come out in the 2nd half with that attitude they should have just turned around and togged in. Can't believe this old weak mentality is still hanging over us! We didn't get tired we just had the wrong attitude! Wow...should have had them buried in the 1st half when they were rattled! katser (Galway) - Posts: 2482 - 08/07/2023 20:23:58 2493187 Link 1 |
