Replying To Kinvara:  "Ah here. If you got your way this would be the team on Saturday Evening:

G Loughnane, B Keary, P Hoban, K Hanrahan, Darren Shaughnessy, A Burns, O Coyle, Ian Hanrahan (c), J Coen, N Keary, J Mooney, T Killeen, M McManus, J Ryan, Dylan Shaughnessy."
Just stating facts... Surely you can't argue with it?

Actually a very interesting post. I'd say the pick of thomas' and loughrea would beat the current Galway team!

One could say a lot of things on a forum like this but what's the point if it can't be tested? Thunder must be endured I suppose!

Looking forward to Saturday. I think ourselves and Limerick have had huge respect for each other since 2018. Neither side will back down from the physical exchanges, we get the same with Kilkenny. Clare on the other hand are more likely to be rolling on the floor or diving (Hayes and Kelly were already caught this year). Another massive battle on Saturday and hopefully we come out on the right side of it.

I'd be very confident that Kilkenny will beat Clare. I don't see any difference to last year's semi final - Clare's defence is probably worse even and I can't see them keeping that Kilkenny forward line in check.

Gort didn't have anyone playing in 2012 as reigning Champs, Mellows didn't have anyone in 18....galway did alright those years. Loughrea like Mellows previous were good teams without having any unbelievable intercounty players (or ones still playing with galway or in their prime or had just retired...like David Collins, Aonghus Callanan, Johnny Coen etc) The gap between county and club is huge, just cus you've 15 very good club hurlers that make up a very good team doesn't mean they make good intercounty players.
Loughrea couldn't beat the pick of Thomas's and Thomas's couldn't beat the pick of Dunloy not to mind Beat oneof the top county teams in Ireland. (Still two terrific club teams, especially Thomas's at full strength, one of the great galway club teams, probably just outside the Portumna, Athenry, Sarsfield bracket but there probably in the top 5 clubs team of all time in the country not to mind Galway so no dig)

They'd get beaten by 30+ points

A couple of things:

1) Kinvara men would be more well versed than most on being beaten by big margins in county finals given the events of 2007!

2) By my count there was 3 of those combined teams on the Galway panel the last day against Tipp. (None starting) That is the cream of the crop from those clubs. If you use any bit of logic you'd understand that the catchment areas of the other clubs alone would mean zero weak links compared to 2 clubs. They would get absolutely hammered

Two County Final appearance in 100 years is better than none.

Yes, Limerick have firepower all over the field but Gillane and T Morrissey in particular are expecting to open us for scores. Stop Gillane needs to be the major priority for our defensive set up, followed by Morrissey, simples!!

All roads lead to Croker on Saturday evening. An intriguing battle awaits us. Are Limerick starting to motor and did the victory over a very flat Tipp flatter Galway. We'll know by 7:30pm Saturday. I think Galway will need goals to win this one and Limerick don't concede to many. Can Galway make hay and take advantage of the void left by the absence of Limericks captain fantastic. If Daithi is playing at 3, he can't be dragged into play outside the 21 or else Gillane, Flanagan and Co will punish Galway severely. Whelan will need alot of help up the other end. Let's hope for a dry evening and no whinging about the referee afterwards.

If that Limerick team lines out as named, Kevin Cooney needs to be parked on Hegarty's wing early with the sole instruction of running at him. He is not a good tackler, especially in the half back line.

Our named half forward line of Cooney, Fahy and Glennon are not the quickest or most skillful but what they have is pure awkwardness and I hate to be marking them.

The only thing that flattered Tipperary was the margin of defeat
