Replying To BostonGuy:  "Here's another thing that has to change, players dropping to the ground and taking off their helmets especially if the opposition has scored a goal or on a streak. if you drop the helmet then you HAVE to go off for an HIA assessment like in rugby. Saw the Kilkenny goalie do it after Flynn's goal and nothing went near his head. Also saw Quaid do it a couple of times this year. A blow to the head is a very serious matter, but I feel a lot of teams are using it as a tactic."
But maybe the goalie in his efforts to block the ball hit there head on the hard ground just saying don't always have to be hit by somebody.

Replying To tiobraid:  "Galway will be warm favs for that game and rightly so. Tipp have won on of last 9 cship games and have had the upper hand on Tipp. While I def give us a chance should we best offaly, there's no chance that Galway aren't favs for that game. On paper they have bucket loads more experience than Tipp. Their main issue is they have a manager who has absolutely zero passion for Galway hurling. You won't see him wearing maroon for many more games, I'd be confident of that"
That is so "nice" of you to "compliment" Galway like that but we are not falling for it. Paddy Power has Tipp now 4th place to win the AI at 8/1 (rightly so IMO) and Galway have now slipped down to 5th at 10/1. Tipp have it in the bag it appears!

Assuming Galway v Tipp, Clare v Dublin what we thinking for venue? Doubleheader Limerick / Cork / Tullamore? With full schedule of football on the Saturday I'm guessing hurling will be Sunday for tv slots.

Cut out the disingenuous tripe. Tipp have an edge under Cahill that Galway will find hard to better. The dogs on the street know that.

As for your obsession with Shefflin, why would a man with 10 all-irelands won with KK, have any passion for Galway hurling? No reason in the world imo. He has a job to do, he's getting paid for his time, and that's likely where the passion element begins and ends. In sportsworld, Henry is a winner, and doubtless he wants Galway to win, but I'm sure he's already absorbing the reality, that the Galway hurlers are generally slow learners when it comes to serial winning.

Quarter Finals are usually in Thurles.
RTE have already committed to Live coverage of the TC semi-finals in Croke Park on the Sunday. No other fixtures will be given a Sunday slot.

Attempting to play clichéd mind games on an anonymous Internet forum with very limited traffic is just very very sad.

Nearly all players that played the game actually but not a few in my opinion.

I would put Tipp favourites for the game. Galway are dispirited and have not put together back to back wins for a long long time.

I'm not complimenting them and I thought they blew a Leinster final at the weekend but what form is out there to suggest Tipp can beat Galway? Tipp were beaten out the gate by a shell of a Waterford team the last day and a player who never played outfield at intercounty level before beat them almost on his own. Since the 2019 AI win, the Tipp results are:
Limerick - L
Cork - W
Galway - L
Clare - W
Limerick - L
Waterford - L
Waterford - L
Clare - L
Limerick - L
Cork - L
Clare - W
Cork - D
Limerick - D
Waterford - L

Basically have only beaten Cork and Clare in the cship since 2019 and it seems this years win against Clare wasnt a true reflection of where either teams are at. 3 wins from 14 and 1 in the last 10 cship games - not sure there is a team in the Liam with a worse win rate! Add in the fact Tipp are decimated from injuries and Ronan Maher is the only survivor from the back 6 last year, yet you're telling me Galway arent going to be warm favs with a team with experience all over the place.
Having said all that, if we get over Offaly which isnt a foregone conclusion based on the Waterford game I will still give us a fighting chance if Forde and Morris are back.

Has to be a double header in Thurles surely? Or would that be not an option if Tipp are there? That be a good day out. If nothing more for ourselves :-) Be too big a crowd for Tullamore.

Maybe because he knows these players inside out and sees them working hard in training every day - surely that would light a fire in him. People can say what they want about Davy in Wexford, Cahill in Waterford or Daly in Dublin but they had real fire in them to win for their adopted county. Shefflin is meeting these lads 3 or 4 days a week yet its chalk and cheese what we see on the sideline compared to what we seen when he was over BS.
He was clearly very uncomfortable looking on the sideline on Sunday. Galway dont need an outside manager and bringing a man from South KK is ludicrous.

Read my post about why I think Galway will be favs.

No I'm not telling you that Tipp are warm favourites for the match v Galway - Paddy Power (who knows his hurling as well as his horses) is telling you and as you say ye will have Forde and Morris back which reinforces that view!

Paddypower have nothing up about that match because Tipp arent even playing Galway yet. We will see what the odds are if that match materialises. The two lads are touch and go so theres no guarantee if they'll be back this weekend. You can add Barrett to that as well.

It really doesn't matter what either team has done as they always play each other close and I believe "IF" they meet again it will be the same old thing.

I would agree with you that he looked a bit (should I say) down or even deflated during the game like he had a sort of premonition of the last 30 seconds which definitely deflated the Galway team / supporters afterwards!

Replying To tommy k:  "Yes that has happened a few times this year. The Dublin goalie did it against Galway also when Daithi Burke scored a goal in the second half and noone within as ass's roar of him. Get off the field if you want to do that and play with 14!"
The ball went in off his head after being walloped in his direction by Dáithi Burke from close range, tommy. The poor chap probably didn't know what day of the week it was, in the moment.

You're a tough crowd sometimes (most of the time)

It would be some negligence if one had a 'premonition' and did nothing to potentially alter the outcome, all the same. Be like having a premonition of a horse race and not having a bet on it.

That 'premonition' if he had it, wasn't much use, not that you'd know a lot about 'premonitions' given your refusal to ever call the result of a match in advance :)

I know it makes no difference now but for the third KK goal Blanchfield ran about 9 steps with the ball near the sideline before releasing it to Butler running in on goal and prior to the fourth goal Reid pushed Linnane in the back when he was crouched over the ball which should have been a certain free out. That is 6 points added to the KK overall score that should never have been allowed and in a tight game between 2 evenly matched teams 6 points is an awful lot! Also all
6 goals conceded by Galway in the last 2 games v Dublin and KK have come from the left wing / corner of the Galway defence - not sure if that can be just attributed to coincidence or if it highlights the lack of pace on that side of the Galway defence in particular.
