Replying To Trump2020:  "Ha ha ha. It's all good. It's just banter. I just need Galway and Clare to win tomorrow, throw down a few old pints, and then I'll sleep like a baby."
Don't I know only too well, Trump, that it's all just a bit of banter. Shure, didn't we Americans invent the very word? But it's more pleasurable to have a cut off these self-proclaimed experts, especially the ones who are 100% sure that something will happen. Ye have a few of them on here. And while I'd prefer to see Limerick do the 5-in-a-row of Munster titles, I'd be almost as equally satisfied to see Clare bridge their 25 year gap for a provincial title. In Leinster, a Galway win is the result that I'd prefer to see. However, it wouldn't be the end of the world if ye were to lose. I find that quite a number of Galway fans over react when things go wrong, and then get over excited when the team gels and puts together a storming performance.

Florida at the moment. Won't be in Asia in 2023 but a spell in 2024 might happen there! Fingers crossed and all that…

Replying To Cockney_Cat:  "I love it when the opposition get over confident. You won't hear any of this nonsense in Kilkenny."
Katser in his echo chamber is hardly representative of the prevailing view among Galway hurling fans. The majority of us are mildly optimistic or mildly pessimistic of our chances today, take your pick. We would want to be all completely daft to be over confident after the way we played against Dublin.

I spent one September Sunday morning in the company of a few Kilkenny supporters and one in particular was telling his father how he was taking the week off for the five in a row celebrations. Stood beside two more in the hill who were at the same. When Lars first goal went in, one asked the other "do you think we could actually lose this"?
Good times ;)

There is nobody over confident that I spoke too, it's just normal chat...."how do ye think the game will go Sunday?" "Ah sure We should win but it won't be easy "

We should win. We have better hurlers than they do. Whether our lads show up is the question.

2017 was our year. 1951 was Mayo's, so I'm told.

I watched that game in Kilsheelan. Was one of very few times I have supported Tipp in a game as usually I'd support our neighbours against the other 2 of the big 3. But you are right about being taken for granted which is why I didn't support them in that game. For the laugh me and the wife stooped the bike at the Thatch, which was still a pub at the time, on the way home for a look. It was all decked out in 5 in a row bunting but there wasn't a sinner in it except one bar man and a newly engaged couple in the smoking area: D

You have an inferiority complex. You do more self proclaiming yourself than most.

Today is one of the best Hurling days of the year. If you can't get excited for these two matches you may as well be a barstool or a piece of turf. I'm jealous of anyone attending these matches today while I'm at work. I hope the matches are great, go my way, and no injuries. Galway Abu.

Another defensive post from pope benny.... lol. I was referring to the annual optimism of the Galway supporters. Nothing got to do with 2017 or the previous all Irelands Galway have won. I suppose with Galways handfull of All Irelands it is the optimism that keeps them going every year. Lol

More likely the volume of games in both codes in such a tight window that keeps people going. You can miss 75% of the games these days, and still attend quite regularly.

We're more like bar stools and pieces of turf than many people think........dust you are, and all that malarkey.

An extra jersey to wash but that's about all.

Because he had that great day a few years ago? Kevin Cooney played very well though!

Too many passengers, not playing as a team, relying on individual performances.
