Hard luck to Castletown. A game they could well have won. I suppose the short gap between our county final and today had a bearing on the result.
Still they had a lot of missed chances and looked like the best team for long periods. Pity Brosnan wasn't available. He surely would have made a big contribution. I can see 2 or 3 of them been drafted into the county set up. Hughes is improving all the time and Higgins is a real prospect.
Well done lads you gave it your all and can hold your heads up.

not my club but im gutted for castletown, while they might have been the better team overall, ctown clung in there right into injury time, their backs were outstanding, top drawer defending, the botton line the lack of a free taker cost them , several frees missed, but in fairness it was a great game of football

Serious effort from Castletown as mentioned they'll regret a few missed frees.Enjoyable game, great atmosphere but christ some of the Laois folk were awful mouthy both supporters and subs.

Oulart isn't a surprise considering the level they were at, 3 neighbours all got titles when you count Monageer too.

No you wouldn't have.

Once Oulart entered it was inevitable that they'd win. And Buffers Alley would have been among the favourites for Junior A

There will no doubt be numerous candidates from senior clubs but for me the best I've seen all year was Niall Harney from Bannow.

I believe he ended up as top scorer in the intermediate championship and in reality is single handedly keeping Bannow in the grade.

really? even if the club tried to stop 8 to 10 of the best players they had from playing? a player said they would never have won it only for paddy colfer, he got the players out and commit

It junior B standard in possibly one of the poorest football county in ireland (sad but true), of course Oulart, once then entered would be favourites.

Yeah, a first team competing in the 6th grade of football in possibly the 30th best county in Ireland.
Any bookmaker with any bit of knowledge at all would have had them about evens before a ball was kicked.

They managed to do it with most of the lads who played first team hurling championship not playing or only playing for a few minutes in cameo appearances. Only 2 of their starting team from intermediate final played in the semi final (Barry Kehoe and Garrett Sinnott) and there were 5 of them playing the final (Kehoe, Sinnott, Billy Dunne, Anthony Roche and Martin Storey)
