You had me at all the ale I can drink, you can throw my name down so.

Declan Darcy will be the next Manager of Dublin. I'm surprised the real fallout from the Dublin COVID training has not made it to this forum yet.

I notice all the talk about dividing Dublin up and the 4 'regions' has all died away. I think Dublin will be back with a vengeance next year.

I mentioned something like that this morning on the Kerry forum, it's like dublin downed tools this year to take the heat off themselves, if they won the allireland which they were well capable of doing in my view then the light shining on their advantages would be all the brighter, even their fans wanted them to lose.

No it looks like they just took the hit this year to keep everyone happy and to keep the facade that the football championship is alive and well and that the team that did 6 is a once in a generation team.

They'll be back next year to start the drive for another 6 in a row.

:D :D :D give up your auld sins lad would ya!
New level of conspiracy theory.
We'll never be as good again, the door is open for Kerry, they just need to step through it, if they can.

Dessie Farrell record after two seasons (2020/21) in charge is identical to Jim Gavin's first two seasons (2013/14) : 2 Leinster titles, one All Ireland win and a semi final defeat. Not many wanted Gavin out after 2014.
In contrast to Gavin he has inherited a squad with more mileage in their legs and and coping with the loss of experienced leaders. Replacing Jim Gavin after such unprecedented success is a bit like taking over from Sir Alex at United. Dessie will bring in fresh talent and will be more successful than the majority of county managers. Let's see what next year brings.

If Dessie Farrell stays on he'll be more successful than most county managers because in comparison to most county managers Dessie Farrell is blessed with an embarrassment of riches when it comes to resources and players. When Jim Gavin's Dublin lost that semi final in 2014 there was a still a sense of togetherness about the squad and management team. I don't feel that that sense of togetherness between management and squad is there to the same extent now. There is no doubt that Dessie Farrell has a major job on his hands when it comes to rebuilding that Dublin team. I think he'll be there next year. What happens next year will determine his future as manager of Dublin.

For me i think a Declan Darcy/ Mick Bohan combo would be great, both have given great service to the county in other well documented roles, this type arrangement worked for Tyrone this year !

I would absolutely love to see this also!! I do feel the only way Dessie stays in charge and they get back to their best is if they have a blood on the walls type meeting over the next while where everyone lets their gripes, grievances or whatever out and at the end of it if they can agree to move forward for the betterment of Dublin football then great. If egos are bruised and lads can't get past it then Dessie has to do the honourable thing and step aside. There is 100% another All Ireland in this current crop if we include even just Mannion back into the fold (never mind Jack Mc!) so it would be criminal to waste that opportunity by trudging along and going through the motions like this year. A lot of ifs and maybes but who knows...

Weren't you supposed to leave or close your account if Dublin didn't win the all ireland??? Wasn't there a bet between you and the self titled by you "multi user account poster" that loser leaves town!!!!!

Unless I'm living in a parallel universe Tyrone won Sam this year so what happened. Why are you still posting??

Anyways its great to see your delusions are still in full flow. This is why Kerry haven't caught the Dubs... some of there so called supporters are so focused on what Dublin have that they don't focus on themselves. Mayo focused on themselves and how they could match and beat Dublin and won and fair play to them. As many have said Dublin have been dropping back and might win 1, 2 or 3 more but the team is now breaking up and not be replenished, minor and underage success is now being taken over by Meath, Offaly and Kildare in Leinster. Sure i suppose you'll start directing your ire i those counties directions soon enough and tell anyone who'll red about their financial doping and how they have every advantage...

Best team won Sam, absolutely ambushed Kerry and had a great game plan for Mayo.

Mayo i just don't know what words to say anymore. I was full sure they'd do it this time. But given the talk of the Liam McHales and John Maughan's in recent weeks and their constant droning on about the great robbery of 96 i'm delighted for people like them that the wait goes on. However your heart still goes out to those lads on this and recent teams. They deserve a Sam more than any team I've ever seen but they have to win it on the pitch for themselves.

Well Brian not for the first time you're wrong.

You see the bet was if Kerry won I would leave the forum and if dublin won the allireland Avon multiple username and jimbo would leave, I made the bet but the bet wasn't accepted by the other lads so myself and Avon had a friendly €100 bet where if dublin won the allireland he'd pay €100 to a charity of my choice and if Kerry won I'd pay €100 to a charity of his choice.

As for my post above it's my opinion is all, we all have 1 but that's mine and time will tell I guess.

As for offaly and Meath winning the U20 and minor championships, it was great to see and I'm delighted for them but it means little as ourselves Cork and Galway have found out, underage doesn't always equate to senior success.

Also I've never directed ire at any other county team have I? Can you point to any post where I have? I have no problem with dublin only with their advantages.
