Probably wrong site, definitely wrong thread...women's golf hasn't much to do with cavan championship.

wishfulthinkin you are wrong there, Cavan championship has a lot to learn from Leone when it comes to ability, guts, competence, energy and no surrender. The co. board could get her to address the lack of backbone in the current lily- livered types masquerading as COUNTY footballers. Ms. Maguire was playing on a world stage her steely calmness and ability left all comers trailing in her wake - what an example to Cavan people of all persuasions.
Declankillann.

Care to name these guys who lack backbone?

Because the players on the county panel (with 1 exception) either made their debut this year or have an ulster winners medal.

It's recognition of the sporting achievements of a Cavan girl on the world stage.
Now whether it's the wrong site or wrong thread what does it matter?
Cavan don't have much to Crow about in world Sport for a quick few comments praising Leona is a welcome change from the sh@@te that you post.

I HAVE IN MIND EVERY MAN WHO DONNED A CAVAN JERSEY IN THE LAST SIX MONTHS. Did you ever think that you would see a Cavan team in division 4 0f the football league. l belong to the days when Cavan were playing in five all lreland finals and winning three and winning a National league as well. Did you ever think that you would see the day that every Cavan team would be beaten off the pitch in the first rounds of all Ulster championship games? Have our expectations sunk so far that we see nothing wrong with these results. Leona please have a word in their ear, tell them what it takes to be a winner.

Congratulations to Leona Maguire on her golf heroics over the weekend. Before the weekend, I actually feared she might have been a touch lily-livered. However, taking the weekend into account, I am now convinced we should be throwing money at Leona to train the under 15 lads development squad.

A few harsh lessons learned in the first week of predictions. 1. Draws are harder to get than previously as referees are using the rule book too much to turn completely even games into 1 point wins when they should have been draws by right. Only got the one but should have been 3/3.

2. The hype around Maghera coming into this c'ship now looks to have been overstated. I have subsequently made adjustments for that in this week's predictions.

Predictions as follows:

Laragh v Lavey : Lavey by 2
Castlerahan v mulahoran : Castlerahan by 3
Kingscourt v killygarry : Killygarry by 1
Gowna v lacken : Gowna by 6
Xlough v Gaels: Xlough by 2
Ballinagh v ramor : Ramor

Ballymachugh v Cootehill - Cootehill by 4
Cornafean v Drumgoon - Draw
Drumlane(---)v(---) Killeshandra - Drumlane by 2
Arva v Ballyhaise - Ballyhaise by 7
Belturbet v Bailiieborough - Draw
Butlersbridge v Killinkere - Butlersbridge by 6

Denn v Munthies - Denn by 1
Knockbride v Drumalee - Knockbride by 4
Kill v Mountnugent - Mountnugent by 1
Drung v Maghera - Drung by 39
Shannon Gaels v Swad - SG by 2

Has the draw for Rd3 - with the 4 teams who got a bye in Senior Championship being made yet? If so what are the pairing for next week. Also when does Round 4 draw take place?

I was in Breffni last night for Lavey Laragh. Laragh was like a different team to what played us last week. They played Lavey off the pitch you'd have to laugh that there were 3 county players on the pitch and none of them Laragh. Mickey or whoever is over the county next year needs to seriously consider getting some of these Laragh men in on the panel. Fergal McKenna is a great option for midfield with Thomas and James Smith. O'Rourke in goal, Paul Smith and Jack McKenna also need to be considered.
That's just one team that I've seen twice in a week now with players blatantly better than lads on the current panel. Looking forward to getting to a few games Sunday. Great games so far.

Don't jump the gun. 11/19 was a steady start. Couple of exact scores in the Senior c'ship for ya there for ya too and alot of near misses due to the aforemnetioned black and white refereeing that threw the actual results out of kilter.

16/19 including (1 correct draw) is the target for this week.

Building towards that 19/19 clean sweep in Round 4.

It's harder to gauge the form and get the clean sweeps in these early rounds after a pointless shadow league. You can blame the county board for that.

0 from 3 by my count now. Some going. That's a talent. Some result for Mullahoran. Can't beat Championship pedigree. Come on the lads!
