I see what you're doing there; but you're not codding anybody : ) This is 31 v 1 time. Everybody in Ireland will be rooting for Mayo, and the ref will certainly not be immune. Tyrone will get no breaks or soft frees at all, guaranteed. That means Tyrone would need to be winning comfortably, and nobody wins comfortably against Mayo; Dublin at their best couldn't do that. It's not impossible that Tyrone could win; but it's more likely that Mayo will win a tight game by a few points. Tyrone scraped past Kerry by a point, primarily due to better work rate and hunger. Mayo is every bit as good a team as Kerry, and they will not tire obligingly like Kerry did. Had Clifford been on for added time, Kerry would have won. If Tyrone play like they did against Kerry, it won't be enough. Tyrone scraped past Kerry by being quite good the entire game. Mayo beat Dublin more convincingly by playing one good half! If Mayo put together 2 good halves, we've had it.

Mayo are favourites and rightly so. They are some team even without O'Connor. Mayo to win by 3. Best of luck dave1988 (Roscommon) - Posts: 1036 - 10/09/2021 14:01:51 2379346 Link 2 |
You said before the semi final against kerry that tyrone would do well to keep it respectable. At the start of the year had you offered tyrone mayo in the all Ireland final they'd have bit your hand off. And shtop with the 31v1 lark. Most of ulster will be rooting for their fellow non southerners. Galway9801 (Galway) - Posts: 1664 - 10/09/2021 14:05:23 2379347 Link 1 |

No offence lad but that is nonsense. There are as many people desperate for Mayo to lose and O Shea to have a stinker as there are well wishers. Social media will back that up.

Best of luck to both teams. I just hope for a good close fought final. Mixed enough feelings about who I want to win. In short I'll be happy for either side if they get over the line. Best of luck SaffronDon (Antrim) - Posts: 2385 - 10/09/2021 15:54:52 2379383 Link 0 |
Really torn on this one as I've strong family connections with Tyrone but the oul softie in me would dearly love to see Mayo finally reach the Promised Land. Just make sure if ye do this time lads don't annoy any priests. Ye know what happened the last time !! Maroonatic (Galway) - Posts: 1060 - 10/09/2021 16:23:29 2379397 Link 1 |
I think the winner of the game will be clear after about 20/25 minutes. downredhand (Tyrone) - Posts: 567 - 10/09/2021 16:35:57 2379399 Link 0 |
Cheers Fridge, I already got an intelligent response from your county man... I didn't really need an unintelligent one, but now I have the full set:)

In answer to your question, I base what I said on the fact that I think Kerry was the best team in ireland in 2021 and they were beaten by Tyrone. On the other hand I think Dublin are currently a pale shadow of themselves and certainly not the team they were in previous years. The semi final between Kerry and Tyrone was a better standard than the other semi final. Of course mayo could play out of their skin or Tyrone might not be a patch on what they were in the semi final. Anyway we will find out tomorrow. Best of luck to both teams.

Staggering how the media especially RTE have utterly ignored Tyrone. Its actually irratating, listen to the village idiot Marty tripping over his tongue with gushing cliches. arock (Dublin) - Posts: 4892 - 10/09/2021 18:50:43 2379440 Link 4 |
That's what we expect from Rte up here in Ulster, don't think it will bother Tyrone though, they know what to expect from the southern media, think Mickey Harte done right to totally blacklist them, I'm dreading having to listen to the Rte commentary and that panel of pundits. Cora ukSean and probably O'Rourke tomorrow? Tirchonaill1 (Donegal) - Posts: 2703 - 10/09/2021 19:04:36 2379442 Link 3 |
Honestly can't pick a winner, wouldnt surprised me if it ended up in a draw. Mayo and Tyrone have been the best two teams, no doubt about. Are we in danger of over emphasising Mayo's victory over Dublin? Still it was some performance to beat Dublin. Tyrone have been brilliant so far beating Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan and Kerry, tough path to the final. Darren McCurry has been the player of the year so far.
