As an Ulsterman I want representation in the AI semi final, Monaghan should be asked to represent Ulster as the beaten finalist of Ulster GAAK (Derry) - Posts: 14 - 14/08/2021 21:16:26 2371102 Link 2 |
I'd agree with you. As far as I'm aware, the Ulster Council have the right to nominate a team to represent the province. Normally, that is the Champion. If they cannot unfortunately, nominate their champion I think the runner up should be put forward as representatives. We could have a Denmark winning the Euro Final in 92 scenario again! I agree, Monaghan should be given the option now. Ulsterman (Antrim) - Posts: 9706 - 14/08/2021 21:46:38 2371145 Link 1 |

If Tyrone can't field and aren't given the the time they need then Monaghan should get a crack at it for sure. Be some craic if they beat Kerry. Tirchonaill1 (Donegal) - Posts: 2756 - 14/08/2021 22:00:24 2371163 Link 0 |
I understand the logic of this line of thought, but we are opening pandora's box here. Knoxboya (Monaghan) - Posts: 358 - 14/08/2021 22:03:51 2371166 Link 2 |

Tyrone will play their semi final. They want the extra week & will get it. Am sure their Covid & injury concerns will be sorted by then. P.Mckenna (Louth) - Posts: 105 - 14/08/2021 22:06:44 2371171 Link 2 |
Monaghan would need at least 3 weeks to get back together and up to speed. TearsIn85 (Monaghan) - Posts: 194 - 14/08/2021 22:10:06 2371176 Link 2 |
Not an option. I would say Tyrone will be keen to participate after this evenings result. greysoil (Monaghan) - Posts: 965 - 14/08/2021 22:10:26 2371177 Link 1 |
True Dublin haven't had a back door game for as long as I can remember, give Dublin another chance I say. If Kerry do win the All Ireland they still won't have beaten Dublin. Tirchonaill1 (Donegal) - Posts: 2756 - 14/08/2021 22:10:47 2371178 Link 3 |

Money will talk and Tyrone will play Kerry. Couple of men with slight niggles but another week they'll be fine.

If any team should go forward it should be Cavan. Last holders of the Ulster title. Eddie the Exile (Monaghan) - Posts: 1064 - 14/08/2021 23:08:55 2371239 Link 1 |

Will you go way and dry up. That's not an option. Tyrone are ulster champs. Croke Park need to step up and accommodate them no matter what.

Please delete this thread. We lost the ulster final and are out. Tyrone should be given the Time needed to face kerry otherwise the all ireland is a farce. seanie08 (Monaghan) - Posts: 1802 - 15/08/2021 08:29:56 2371333 Link 3 |
honestly, what bloody planet are some of you on? tyrone have said they can't field a team next sunday, the gaa have said they will look at all the facts and make a statement in due course likely lunchtime monday, as for those calling for monaghan to be nominated, WHY? they were beat in the final does that mean they should be nominated, others saying the ulster council can nominate a team sure why not armagh or derry probably 2 of the best teams in the ulster championship this but beaten in the quarters, why should they not be nominated, why not cavan as the 2002 champions? fermanagh or antrim again why not, this is how ridiculous claims for another team to be playing kerry sounds, how far back in the championship do you go or replay it without tyrone to get a team to play kerry, by all accounts croke park will look at all the available medical evidence from the daily player monitoring and the expert advice obtained by the tyrone management team and the county board which will then be scrutinised by the cccc the suits and hopefully real experts from the hse not somebody who has looked up covid on the internet, end of the day these are amateur players with jobs families etc that need protecting regardless if croke park lose a million euro gate receipts croke park make big claims of being concerned on players welfare, health and well being, this will either prove they are serious or not, one thing is for sure, tyrone will not have made this decision without having full hard facts and stats/data to back up the decision bulmccabe (Tyrone) - Posts: 361 - 15/08/2021 14:29:59 2371517 Link 0 |
