Replying To AfricanGael:  "Small knew what he was doing alright.

Anyone that has played football at any level knows that if a player is running towards you and turns his body to receive a pass that it is totally reckless and dangerous play to even attempt a shoulder in that situation.

He knew there was only one way McLoughlin was going to turn his body and that was straight into his shoulder and then he lifts his elbow afterwards for good measure.

It was pure filth by Small.

We saw the real Dublin on Saturday, great lads when everyone was rolling over for them but dirty losers when it was put up to them.

If games had been officiated properly over the last few years they wouldn't have won four in a row never mind six .

Great champions me hole ."
Rubbish

Find it incredible how varied the opinions on Small's shoulder are. He went to nail him, no bother, didn't come off and he's caught him in the head so it's a red card, intentional or not. The ref's only mistake was not stopping play, very few people thought it was a red card in real time and only took the replays for us to realise.

Hermit, your "hole" is not something I'd like to contemplate thank you. These WERE great champions. You can spout and indulge your faux outrage all you want. You're just bitter . It will pass.

Replying To baire:  "As you may notice the title of threads mean nothing on HS, all sorts of issues may be thrown in. Someone brought up other hits and injuries that happened in previous games, Shane Walsh being one of them. The point been made is that Mayo are not squeaky clean when it comes to foul play, neither are Kerry, Dublin, or the other top footballing counties. When Pádraic Joyce says that Walsh needed an injection in his shoulder at half-time so that he could continue to play and that the injury affected his performance in the second half, I believe him. I don't like to see any player, no matter what county he's from, ending up as McLaughlin did yesterday.
I'm interested in player welfare and better officiating of our games, not some smart comments from the likes of you."
yes indeed player welfare that's why game should have been stopped immediately for that reason I dont drink wine but I do get the taste of sour grapes from your posts

Congratulations to Mayo on a deserved win. It was a quintessential Mayo performance. Far from perfect, but full of courage and commitment. Once they get on a roll like that they can be irresistible to contain. It looked ominous for them early on, bur great credit must go to James Horan for making a few brave calls and also to young players like O'Connor, Hession, O'Hora and O'Donoghue who emerged as new leaders for this team. They have a fearlessness about them and I don't think they'll carry any baggage with them into the AI Final. Every one is assuming it'll be Kerry but lets wait and see.

Dublin have been great champions and will rightly go down as the best ever. Hindsight is a great thing but it's obvious that things weren't quite as harmonious as in previous years. Lads like Mannion, McCaffrey stepping away, the lockdown breach, the Cluxton situation. Discipline simply isn't as good as it was under Gavin. All things eventually add up and can lead to a ragged display when the heat is on. The big thing for me is the bench though. No harm to the lads that were introduced but they no longer strike fear into the opposition as in the past.

https://twitter.com/foxymm21/status/1426610785447555076?s=21. This is a clip from John Fox on Twitter. I've been looking for better angles but so far this is the best. At no time was John Small in a position to deliver a legal hit to McLaughlins shoulder. The second part of this clip shows this. It clearly shows that Smalls shoulder makes contact with McLaughlins chest and head. It is physically impossible to deliver a shoulder to shoulder hit coming from the front like Small did. Dirty dangerous hit Red card every time.

And did they stick to that script even after seeing the replay on the TSG live.

Then change the story on Sundays nights TSG and claim that they hadn't initially seen the replay [a blatant lie
as their RTE producer became aware how ridiculous their product/analyst was looking even by the low standards of TSG.
Those lads?"]No.

It was three Mayo lads in front of us and two oul fellas behind.

Because in real time it looked legit.

We didn't have multiple replays.

Because we were in the stadium.

Right in front of it.

The mask certainly slipped. You can put lipstick on a pig. but it's still a pig. We certainly saw that on Saturday.

I think you're right about the camp. Things just don't stack up. Not being privy to the panel since Dessie came in would love to know if it all started with the Covid restrictions break or was it coming from last year. Maybe we just didn't see the signs last year. Things to ponder over the winter for us no doubt.

yep, play Donegal in a challenge match to stay warm, and leave out the AvB games.
Players will do anything to start a final.,..

An ex Liverpool player admitted it on Panorama doing such a deed , and maintains is happens in top level sports everywhere..

Give me one example of sour grapes from my posts! If you go back over my posts you'll see that I remarked that I was astonished that some Galway posters would prefer to see Dublin win than Mayo. I also know that there are some Mayo posters who would feel the same if Galway were playing Dublin. Why would I have sour grapes? Galway have won 14 Senior Football All Irelands between football and hurling, Mayo have won 3 Senior All Irelands. I'll be delighted if Mayo win this year. Those of us who following hurling in Galway know well what it's like to lose All Irelands. I couldn't understand how some of the Dublin players, who have won so many All Irelands, were so unsporting yesterday.

it must have some kind of personality disorder, more to be pitied really I suppose. puerile indeed.

Replying To daytona11:  "I stand corrected on the 45. If it was for 16 players on the field and it didn't have an impact on the game then Mayo are extremely luck. Has anyone on the refereeing team confirmed that this was the reason? Or is it more BS from amateur Sunday game muppets? Mad stuff. If Henelley had of nailed it would it have been retaken?

Yeh I think Kilkenny will be thinking along the lines of Mannion for example. Mannion was 28 and stepped away. Didn't retire but stepped away. Possibly could have chosen my words more carefully.

MIck Fitzsimons is another who can be added to that list too. 32 now."
Well fair enough I'n goin by the Sunday game but the footage shown last night shows no interference from a Dublin player, or a Dub too near. Well if it was a bit of luck Mayo deserved it. Some crack tho if he scored and was ordered to re-take and missed!!!
Not sure where you're coming from re Kilkenny, no evidence that he is not enjoying the game?
Like Paul Mannion opted out b4, maybe he can take it or leave it, no indication of that from Kilkenny.
